Job description
Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled Communications Digital Twin Engineer with a strong background in aerospace, defense systems, and electromagnetic spectrum operations (EMSO). In this role, you will develop, validate, and deploy advanced digital twin models for communications systems to support mission-critical applications in aerospace and defense. You will work across multi-domain environments—land, air, sea, space, and cyber—to enable faster innovation, system optimization, and operational readiness.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in RF/microwave, electronic systems, test instrumentation, wireless communication & radar technologies, Network Digital Twin, RF Channel Emulators and Wireless Emulators, combined with a passion for solving technical challenges and delivering exceptional customer support.

Responsibilities
  • Serve as a technical expert for customers in the aerospace and defense and wireless communications industry, providing pre-sales and post-sales support and project management of complex delivery.
Digital Twin Development
  • Design, implement, and validate digital twin models of communications systems, including RF, microwave, and high-speed digital links.
  • Integrate physics-based models, system-level simulations, and AI/ML approaches to enable predictive system behavior and mission outcome analysis.
Aerospace & Defense Applications
  • Support modeling of tactical and strategic communications networks, satellite links, radar/communications coexistence, and contested spectrum scenarios.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align digital twin capabilities with aerospace and defense mission requirements.
Electromagnetic Spectrum Operations (EMSO)
  • Develop models and tools for spectrum situational awareness, interference mitigation, EW (Electronic Warfare) effects, and spectrum agility.
  • Conduct studies and mission simulations to evaluate system resilience under electronic attack and spectrum congestion.
Collaboration & Customer Engagement
  • Work closely with government, defense, and aerospace partners to translate mission needs into digital twin implementations.
  • Provide technical expertise in customer engagements, demonstrations, and proposals.
Innovation & Research
  • Stay current on emerging trends in digital twin technologies, AI/ML for communications, and EMSO applications.
  • Contribute to research initiatives and whitepapers supporting next-generation aerospace and defense communication systems.
  • Understand customer requirements and recommend appropriate Keysight Network Modelling tools Exata with Keysight test and measurement solutions, RF Channel Emulators, Wireless Devices and Network Emulators, RF Signal Monitoring & Recording Systems, Traffic Generators, with system architecture design and integration.
  • Conduct product demonstrations, technical presentations, and hands-on training sessions for customers and partners.
  • Collaborate with the sales team to identify new business opportunities and help define solution strategies
  • Stay current with wireless communication industry trends, military standards, and emerging technologies in the A/D landscape
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s, Master’s or PhD in Electrical & Electronics Engineering, or related technical field
  • 3–7+ years of experience in test and measurement or applications engineering, with a focus on aerospace & defense and wireless communication markets
  • Strong background in RF/microwave communications, signal processing, and system modeling.
  • Knowledge of RF/microwave test systems, signal analysis, monitoring and generation, radar, satellite and terrestrial wireless communications
  • Experience with aerospace/defense communication systems (SATCOM, tactical radios, line-of-sight links, radar/comm coexistence).
  • Familiarity with EMSO concepts: spectrum management, EW, cognitive radios, and spectrum sharing.
  • Proficiency in simulation and modeling tools (Exata, NE3, Opnet, MATLAB, Simulink, SystemVue, ADS, HFSS, STK & etc)
  • Knowledge of AI/ML integration in system modeling and digital twin frameworks.
  • Defense industry or aerospace R&D experience.
  • Understanding of MIL-STD, NATO standards, or DoD/defense communications requirements.
  • Experience with cloud-based digital twin platforms and big-data analytics.
  • Excellent customer-facing skills, with the ability to communicate complex technical information clearly
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills for technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Ability to work in multi-disciplinary teams spanning engineering, operations, and customer stakeholders.
  • Proficiency in scripting or programming languages (e.g., Python, MATLAB, or C/C++) is a plus
  • Self-starter with a passion for innovation in mission-critical domains.
