Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled Communications Digital Twin Engineer with a strong background in aerospace, defense systems, and electromagnetic spectrum operations (EMSO). In this role, you will develop, validate, and deploy advanced digital twin models for communications systems to support mission-critical applications in aerospace and defense. You will work across multi-domain environments—land, air, sea, space, and cyber—to enable faster innovation, system optimization, and operational readiness.
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in RF/microwave, electronic systems, test instrumentation, wireless communication & radar technologies, Network Digital Twin, RF Channel Emulators and Wireless Emulators, combined with a passion for solving technical challenges and delivering exceptional customer support.
Responsibilities
- Serve as a technical expert for customers in the aerospace and defense and wireless communications industry, providing pre-sales and post-sales support and project management of complex delivery.
Digital Twin Development
- Design, implement, and validate digital twin models of communications systems, including RF, microwave, and high-speed digital links.
- Integrate physics-based models, system-level simulations, and AI/ML approaches to enable predictive system behavior and mission outcome analysis.
Aerospace & Defense Applications
- Support modeling of tactical and strategic communications networks, satellite links, radar/communications coexistence, and contested spectrum scenarios.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align digital twin capabilities with aerospace and defense mission requirements.
Electromagnetic Spectrum Operations (EMSO)
- Develop models and tools for spectrum situational awareness, interference mitigation, EW (Electronic Warfare) effects, and spectrum agility.
- Conduct studies and mission simulations to evaluate system resilience under electronic attack and spectrum congestion.
Collaboration & Customer Engagement
- Work closely with government, defense, and aerospace partners to translate mission needs into digital twin implementations.
- Provide technical expertise in customer engagements, demonstrations, and proposals.
Innovation & Research
- Stay current on emerging trends in digital twin technologies, AI/ML for communications, and EMSO applications.
- Contribute to research initiatives and whitepapers supporting next-generation aerospace and defense communication systems.
- Understand customer requirements and recommend appropriate Keysight Network Modelling tools Exata with Keysight test and measurement solutions, RF Channel Emulators, Wireless Devices and Network Emulators, RF Signal Monitoring & Recording Systems, Traffic Generators, with system architecture design and integration.
- Conduct product demonstrations, technical presentations, and hands-on training sessions for customers and partners.
- Collaborate with the sales team to identify new business opportunities and help define solution strategies
- Stay current with wireless communication industry trends, military standards, and emerging technologies in the A/D landscape
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s, Master’s or PhD in Electrical & Electronics Engineering, or related technical field
- 3–7+ years of experience in test and measurement or applications engineering, with a focus on aerospace & defense and wireless communication markets
- Strong background in RF/microwave communications, signal processing, and system modeling.
- Knowledge of RF/microwave test systems, signal analysis, monitoring and generation, radar, satellite and terrestrial wireless communications
- Experience with aerospace/defense communication systems (SATCOM, tactical radios, line-of-sight links, radar/comm coexistence).
- Familiarity with EMSO concepts: spectrum management, EW, cognitive radios, and spectrum sharing.
- Proficiency in simulation and modeling tools (Exata, NE3, Opnet, MATLAB, Simulink, SystemVue, ADS, HFSS, STK & etc)
- Knowledge of AI/ML integration in system modeling and digital twin frameworks.
- Defense industry or aerospace R&D experience.
- Understanding of MIL-STD, NATO standards, or DoD/defense communications requirements.
- Experience with cloud-based digital twin platforms and big-data analytics.
- Excellent customer-facing skills, with the ability to communicate complex technical information clearly
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills for technical and non-technical audiences.
- Ability to work in multi-disciplinary teams spanning engineering, operations, and customer stakeholders.
- Proficiency in scripting or programming languages (e.g., Python, MATLAB, or C/C++) is a plus
- Self-starter with a passion for innovation in mission-critical domains.
