Job summary

A leading marine engineering company in Singapore is seeking an experienced engineer to lead a team in commissioning shipboard equipment. Candidates should have a degree in engineering and 5-7 years of marine industry experience. Key responsibilities include overseeing engineering teams, managing project schedules, and ensuring adherence to safety practices. Qualifications

  • Strong knowledge and hands-on exposure to ship machinery, electrical, and automation systems operation and maintenance.

  • Lead and supervise a team of engineers on project commissioning.
  • Plan and implement Commissioning/HAT plans based on project schedules.
  • Manage resource planning and provide technical guidance to the QA team.

Responsibilities
  • Lead and supervise a team of engineers in commissioning shipboard equipment, ensuring projects are completed on schedule and in line with protocols.
  • Plan, implement, and monitor Commissioning/HAT plans based on the master project schedule, including FAT, HAT, and PAT reviews and progress reporting.
  • Manage resource planning, manpower allocation, and provide technical guidance to the QA Commissioning Team.
  • Oversee job assignments, safety practices, risk assessments, and productivity, ensuring scope is delivered within budgeted man-hours.
  • Coordinate with suppliers, OEMs, and cross-department teams to resolve interface and equipment-related issues.
  • Conduct regular progress meetings and vendor discussions, tracking and updating commissioning status.
  • Set team productivity targets, identify training needs, and oversee departmental improvements to enhance quality of work.
  • Manage E-Ops team during sea trials and conduct safety audits on practices and employees.
Requirements
  • Diploma or Degree in Marine, Electrical, or Electronic Engineering.
  • 5 - 7 years of relevant experience in the marine industry.
  • Proven track record in leading teams of engineers and technicians.
  • Strong knowledge and hands-on exposure to ship machinery, electrical, and automation systems operation and maintenance.
  • Experienced in managing commissioning and service support for marine/electrical/automation systems.
  • Shipboard, sea-going, or sea trial experience is an advantage.
