Job summary

A major technology solutions provider in Singapore seeks an experienced Database Administrator to maintain SQL Server and Oracle databases. Job Description
  • Install, configure, maintain, and upgrade MS SQL Server and Oracle databases across on-prem and AWS environments.
  • Monitor database performance, analyze resource usage, and optimize SQL queries and indexing strategies.
  • Design and implement HA/DR solutions such as Always On, Log Shipping, Replication, Clustering, and Oracle Data Guard.
  • Perform database backups, restores, DR testing, and manage security patches and updates.
  • Troubleshoot database, OS, network, and hardware-related issues end-to-end.
  • Implement robust security measures including access control, encryption, auditing, and vulnerability fixes.
  • Collaborate with application, DevOps, and security teams to support releases, transitions, and performance improvements.
  • Automate routine tasks (backups, monitoring, health checks) using T‑SQL, PL/SQL, and PowerShell.
  • Maintain documentation for configurations, procedures, and incident resolutions.
  • Provide regular reporting on database health, patch status, and backup compliance.
  • Participate in 24×7 on‑call rotation and respond to incidents based on SLAs.
  • Support legacy systems while enhancing reliability, scalability, and performance of database environments.
Requirements
  • 5+ years of DBA experience with strong focus on MS SQL Server.
  • 2+ years hands‑on experience with Oracle 12c/19c administration.
  • Proficient in AWS/Azure RDS (SQL Server & Oracle) and cloud performance tuning.
  • Strong scripting skills in T‑SQL, PL/SQL, and PowerShell.
  • Deep understanding of HA/DR, backup/restore strategies, migration methods, and cloud best practices.
  • Experience with monitoring/alerting tools (CloudWatch, Azure Monitor).
  • Knowledge of DynamoDB, MongoDB, MySQL, or PostgreSQL (good to have).
  • Exposure to DevOps tools, Terraform, CloudFormation, or CI/CD pipelines (preferred).
  • Experience with multi‑AZ/region deployments and cost optimization (advantageous).
  • Exposure to WOG/GCC and GCC+ environments (added advantage).
