About the Organisation

Alliance Counselling is an established multidisciplinary mental health practice based in Singapore since 2009. We provide confidential, evidence-based psychological and counselling services to individuals, couples, children, adolescents, and families from both local and international communities.

Our team works collaboratively to deliver culturally sensitive care. In addition to clinical services, Alliance Counselling provides clinical supervision, psychological assessments (where appropriate), corporate workshops, and educational partnerships. Our clients represent over 60 cultural backgrounds, and our team works in multiple languages.

Role Overview

We are seeking an experienced Clinical Counsellor / Clinical Psychotherapist to join our established team. This role involves delivering high-quality counselling and psychotherapy services, contributing to programme development, providing supervision within scope, and supporting the continued growth and clinical standards of the practice.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct clinical consultations, intake assessments, and ongoing counselling/psychotherapy
  • Develop, implement, and review evidence-based treatment and intervention plans
  • Deliver individual, family, and group counselling/psychotherapy services
  • Work within ethical, professional, and organisational guidelines
  • Collaborate with schools, medical professionals, and allied health providers as required
  • Conduct family sessions and provide support to caregivers where appropriate
  • Prepare professional clinical summaries and progress documentation
  • Maintain accurate, confidential case records in line with PDPA and professional standards
  • Provide clinical supervision or consultation to counsellors and practitioners (within scope of training and experience)
  • Develop and deliver mental health-related training, talks, and psycho-educational materials
  • Contribute to service development, specialist programmes, and quality improvement initiatives
Clinical Skills & Areas of Experience

The successful candidate should demonstrate strong experience in the following areas:

  • Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) for:

    • Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder (OCD)
    • Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD)
    • Social Anxiety
    • Generalised Anxiety Disorder
    • Specific Phobias
  • Adapting CBT for clients with long-term physical health conditions, integrating psychological and medical considerations
  • Trauma-focused work, including trauma-informed CBT and work with survivors of sexual trauma
  • Perinatal mental health, supporting mothers and fathers through pregnancy, postpartum adjustment, and perinatal mood and anxiety disorders
  • Assessment and therapeutic support for neurodivergent clients (Autism, ADHD), using flexible and individualised approaches
  • Integration of third-wave and adjunct approaches alongside CBT, including:
    • Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT)
    • Compassion-Focused Therapy
    • Mindfulness-based approaches
    • CBT-I (Cognitive Behavioural Therapy for Insomnia)
  • Strengths-based, person-centred approach to complex and comorbid presentations
  • Demonstrated cultural competence working with clients from diverse and multicultural backgrounds
Requirements
  • Minimum 8–10 years of relevant post-qualification clinical experience in counselling or psychotherapy
  • Postgraduate qualification in Counselling, Psychotherapy, Clinical Psychology, or a closely related mental health discipline
  • Formal training and practical experience in trauma-informed approaches, ACT, grief work, and EMDR (individual and/or group settings)
  • Experience developing and delivering structured programmes for specialist client populations
  • Experience facilitating and managing group therapy or psycho-educational groups
  • Experience providing supervision or mentoring to counsellors or mental health practitioners (within scope of training)
  • Clinical experience working with children and adolescents
Desired / Advantageous Experience
  • Experience in health psychology or working with clients managing chronic or serious health conditions
  • Experience providing psychological or counselling support during high-stress or crisis situations
  • Involvement in research projects, programme evaluation, or service development
  • Teaching, training, or workshop facilitation experience in mental health or wellbeing
  • Experience working with international, expatriate, and multicultural client populations
  • Ability to communicate in additional languages (e.g. French, Portuguese, Mandarin, or others) is welcomed and considered an advantage
