About the Role
We are seeking a seasoned and results-driven Chief Operating Officer / Chief Investment Officer (COO/CIO) to lead and scale our integrated operations. Reporting directly to the Group CEO and Group Chairman, the COO will be responsible for driving operational excellence, ensuring the flawless execution of our significant real estate project pipeline, and optimizing business processes across all segments.
This executive will play a vital role in managing the company's day-to-day performance, driving financial efficiency, mitigating operational risk, and executing our strategic vision for regional growth. The ideal candidate is an execution-focused leader with deep domain expertise in real estate asset management and development.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic Execution & Operational Leadership
- Partner with the CEO and C-suite to develop and execute the group's long-term strategic plan.
- Translate high-level strategy into actionable, operational roadmaps and clear performance goals for all departments.
- Lead, mentor, and build a high-performance culture across the operations, projects, and asset management teams.
- Establish, monitor, and report on key performance indicators (KPIs) for operational, project, and financial health.
Investment Leadership
- Oversee the full fund investment lifecyclefrom deal sourcing, structuring, underwriting, and due diligence to execution, monitoring, and divestment.
- Lead investment committees and drive disciplined capital allocation across the Group's funds, SPVs, VCCs, and proprietary investments.
- Identify new investment opportunities in real estate, private equity, and strategic partnerships across Asia Pacific.
- Guide fund-raising efforts in collaboration with investor relations, ensuring alignment with investor mandates.
- Strengthen the investment framework, models, and risk protocols to support sustainable returns.
- Ensure investment reporting, compliance, and governance adhere to MAS and international regulatory standards.
Project & Portfolio Management
- Assume ultimate responsibility for the end-to-end management of the Group's real estate portfolio.
- Ensure all development projects (e.g., residential, commercial, mixed-use) are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standard.
- Oversee the Acquisitions & Projects and Relationship Management teams, standardizing processes for project sourcing, due diligence, land tender, design, and marketing.
Financial Performance & Efficiency
- Drive group-wide operational efficiency, process improvement, and cost-control initiatives to enhance profitability.
- Work closely with the CFO to manage the P&L of the operational divisions, develop budgets, and forecast resource needs.
- Analyze and optimize the operational structure to support the company's new project launches and strategic divestments.
Business Segment Oversight
- Investment & Asset Management: Ensure the operational backbone (including compliance, reporting, and investor relations) fully supports our MAS-licensed fund management activities and Special Purpose Vehicles (SPVs).
- Property & Facilities Management: Oversee the property management division, ensuring service excellence, client retention, and profitability.
- Financial Advisory: Support the integration of advisory services with the group's wider asset management platform.
Risk Management & Compliance
- Implement and maintain a robust operational risk management framework.
- Ensure all group operations comply with relevant regulations in all jurisdictions, including Singapore (MAS), Hong Kong (HKEX), and Australia.
Job Requirements
Education & Professional Background
- Bachelor's Degree in Business, Finance, Real Estate, Economics, Engineering, or a related field.
- Master's Degree (MBA, MSRE, or equivalent) preferred.
- Professional certifications such as CFA, CAIA, CPA, or FRM are advantageous.
Experience
- Minimum 10 years of relevant experience, with at least 5 years in senior leadership roles.
- 510 years of experience in fund management and/or REIT management, with a strong understanding of investment lifecycle, compliance, and portfolio performance.
- Proven track record in real estate private equity, asset management, investment management, or development.
- Experience with technology-driven investment solutions, with exposure to tokenization, digital assets, crowd funding securities fund with digital platform or blockchain-enabled real estate structures considered a strong advantage.
- Experience managing large-scale real estate projects across residential, commercial, industrial, or mixed-use developments.
- Familiarity with MAS-regulated environments and fund management compliance requirements.
