ABOUT THE ROLE

The Quick Service Restaurant (QSR) sector has witnessed massive shifts in consumer behaviour in the past few years, to which organizations leaned in to effective supply chain management as a vital enabler to ensure that we respond to rapidly-changing needs with resilience, sustainability and customer satisfaction at heart. This is a key agenda for KFC Asia as we establish a Supply Chain organization that will support our mission in enabling growth and accelerate the progress of our “Recipe for Good.”

The Chief Marketing Officer (CMO) of KFC North Asia is a senior leadership role responsible for advancing the KFC brand and business across the region in partnership with four major franchise organizations. This role requires a balance of strategic vision, commercial acumen, and exceptional influencing skills to achieve success in a fully franchised business model.

The role is based in Singapore with travel required to our partner markets.

  • Job scope : 7 countries, 5 Franchise Partners.
  • Travel required : 30%+ (International).

Leading a talented team of six, the CMO will influence, guide, and support partners in delivering marketing strategies that drive both long-term brand equity and short-term business performance.

Organization supported : KFC, North Asia Franchise Business Unit (2000+ restaurants). Business Unit includes KFC Japan, KFC Korea, KFC Taiwan, KFC HK, KFC Mongolia, KFC Guam and Saipan.

1. Grow the Brand Over Time
  • Define and steward the long-term brand vision for KFC across North Asia.
  • Champion consumer insights, brand equity, and cultural relevance to ensure KFC remains a leading QSR brand.
  • Drive consistency in brand positioning while empowering franchisees to adapt locally.
  • Oversee brand campaigns, innovation, and partnerships that build meaningful emotional connections with consumers.
2. Boost Sales Overnight
  • Develop marketing activations, value platforms, and promotional strategies to deliver immediate sales impact.
  • Partner with franchisees on breakthrough campaigns that balance brand-building with transaction-driving initiatives.
  • Leverage media, PR, and digital channels to maximize reach and drive urgency.
  • Ensure speed, agility, and data-driven decision-making in marketing execution.
3. Enhance Digital Marketing as a Growth Driver
  • Champion e-commerce and digital platforms (delivery, app, CRM, loyalty) as central engines of business growth.
  • Influence franchise partners to accelerate digital adoption, personalization, and seamless consumer experiences.
  • Harness data and analytics to optimize performance, customer engagement, and conversion.
  • Identify and scale innovation in digital ordering, partnerships, and consumer technology.
4. Franchise Partner Engagement
  • Act as the primary brand and marketing liaison with the four franchise partners and the respective marketing teams.
  • Build trust-based relationships that inspire alignment with Yum!’s global vision while enabling local execution.
  • Share global best practices, provide thought leadership, and support cross-market collaboration.
  • Serve as a strategic advisor to partners, influencing decisions without direct control.
5. Leadership & Team
  • Lead, coach, and develop a high-performing marketing team of six.
  • Foster a culture of creativity, agility, accountability, and collaboration.
  • Build capabilities across brand, digital, and insights to meet future business needs.
  • Represent Marketing on the North Asia leadership team, collaborating with cross-functional peers.
BRING YOUR BEST SELF… with your top-notch qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in marketing, Advertising or Business. MBA preferred.
  • 10+ years of progressive marketing leadership experience, ideally in QSR, FMCG or retail.
  • Proven success in brand building, sales-driving activations, and digital / e-commerce growth.
  • Experience working within franchise or partner-led business models; strong influencing skills are essential.
  • Excellent project and budget management skills with ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously. Strong analytical skills with experience analyzing and interpreting complex data.
  • Track record of managing and developing teams across diverse markets.
  • Deep cultural understanding of North Asian consumers and competitive landscapes.
  • Fluent in English; additional fluency in Mandarin, Japanese, or Korean is a plus

Reporting to the General Manager for KFC North Asia , this person will work closely with a great support network :

  • Leads the relationship with Global Marketing Team Stakeholders
  • Interact with other functions within the North Asia team (General Management, Operations, Development, Supply Chain, R&D / QA, Digital and Finance) as well as franchise owners, agencies (Advertising, market research, sales promotions media planning / buying - creativity, technical advice), media, attorneys (Trademark) marketing, and cross-functional teams and Yum! Marketing executives.
  • Oversees a team of 3 Direct Reports and a total structure of 6 People.
