Job summary

A leading firm in finance in Asia Pacific is seeking a Finance Manager to manage the full spectrum of Finance & Accounting activities across the region. The ideal candidate will have at least 15 years of experience in finance or accounting, preferably within Japanese multinational corporations. Responsibilities include budget management, compliance with IFRS standards, and collaborating with external stakeholders. Candidates with CPA or equivalent certification will be preferred, and strong communication skills are essential for effective interaction in a multicultural environment.

Qualifications

  • Experience in Japanese multinational corporations across APAC.
  • Familiarity with regional financial reporting and tax regulations.

Job description
Job Role and Responsibilities:
  • Responsible for managing the full spectrum of Finance & Accounting activities including budgetary, strategic planning, financial analysis, internal controlling procedures & standards, defining improvements to meet future needs, implementing financial systems and compliance processes across Asia Pacific (APAC) region.
  • Consolidate regional budgets and forecasts, manage regional performance KPIs and oversee incentive programs.
  • Lead and support the Regional Finance team to ensure compliance with IFRS, local accounting standards, internal controls and corporate governance & compliance to Group policies.
  • Delivery of all Finance & Accounting functions and core processes within APAC in either direct or indirect capacity.
  • Liaison with external auditors, tax agents, bankers, legal and secretariat associates at Corporate level.
  • Work with headquarters stakeholders on business requirements.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance or a related field. CPA, ACCA, CMIA or equivalent certification is strongly preferred. Master’s degree is advantageous.
  • Minimum 15 years of progressive experience in finance, accounting, or audit, with part of experience in Japanese multinational corporations operating across APAC.
  • Familiarity with regional financial reporting, tax regulations and statutory audits.
  • Possess strong business acumen and ability to support strategic decision-making.
  • Team player and skilled communicator with good collaborative working skills especially to facilitate effective interaction within a multinational and multi-cultural support environment.
  • Must be hands-on with the ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment across multiple geographic locations.
