Our firm is collaborating with a leading Asian conglomerate as it grows its asset management arm and looks for a CEO to head its international business.
The CEO is the highest-ranking executive responsible for the firm's entire operation and performance, ensuring alignment with the Board's objectives and regulatory requirements. The ideal candidate will manage the overall operations of the company as well as develop and implement strategies that meet the needs of the customers, the stakeholders, and the employees. They will be responsible for making key decisions and executing the culture of the company.
Background
- Asset Management with extensive investment/ sales experience
- Ideal Candidates: CIO or Senior Fund Manager or Senior Sales Director with a comprehensive understanding of middle to back-office operations, sales, or business development. Ideally, candidates should have a well-rounded investment background.
- Understanding of Asset Management: Must have a solid grasp of the asset management business, focusing on overseas operations.
- Expansion Mode: Looking for proper asset management capabilities, with the ability to manage both proprietary funds and future client investments.
Key Responsibilities
- Strategic Leadership: Formulating and championing the firm's strategic blueprint, including business growth, capital allocation, and product innovation.
- Operational Oversight: Overseeing day-to-day operations, ensuring operational excellence, effective internal controls, and necessary resources to achieve the firm's mission.
- Regulatory Compliance & Governance: Ensuring strict adherence to regulatory frameworks and maintaining robust compliance controls.
- Stakeholder Management: Acting as the primary liaison with regulators, the Board of Directors, and key external stakeholders (e.g., HNW individuals, institutional investors).
- Financial Performance: Driving profitability, managing P&L, and ensuring the adequacy and integrity of financial reporting to the Board and shareholders.
- Talent Management: Recruiting, developing, and retaining quality staff, and establishing a strong management team.
- Take lead across all aspects of the company by reviewing how departments work together
- Make key decisions that will affect the company's direction
- Build a positive and productive culture in the workplace
Requirements
- Minimum of 15 years of progressive leadership within reputable asset management or private banking institutions.
- Proven P&L ownership and a demonstrable track record of capital-raising success.
- Intimate familiarity with regulatory framework.
- Strong business acumen, strategic thinking, and crisis-navigation prowess.
- Strong leadership, decision making and communication skills
