Casual Usher (University Cultural Centre)

Job Description

You will perform the work of Usher with the University Cultural Centre (UCC). Your duties will include:

  • Perform essential ushering duties such as greeting, directing, and seating patrons.
  • Check tickets or other modes of admission, check the auditorium areas before and after events, and perform miscellaneous light duties.
  • Enforce house rules and address situations in a professional manner.
  • Act on all feedback in a prompt and appropriate manner.
  • Ensure the safety of patrons by flagging any dangerous or unsafe practice that could pose as a hazard.
Qualifications
  • Able to communicate fluently in English.
  • Able to work in a fast‑paced environment and be comfortable with limited lighting, loud music, and steep stairs.
  • Able to climb stairs and stand throughout an event – approximately 3–4 hours at a time.
  • Service‑oriented, team player, patient, and proactive.
