Position Overview
The Business Development Executive plays a key role in expanding the company’s presence in the FPSO and offshore energy market. The role involves identifying and developing business opportunities, managing client relationships, and supporting tender and proposal activities — particularly within the mechanical, electrical, and commissioning domains of FPSO and offshore projects.
This position is ideal for candidates with a technical background who understand project lifecycles and can bridge the gap between engineering, commercial, and client engagement.
Key Responsibilities
1. Market Development
- Identify, pursue, and qualify new business opportunities in the FPSO, offshore energy, and EPCI sectors.
- Track ongoing and upcoming projects related to mechanical, electrical, and commissioning scopes.
- Conduct market research to identify trends, key clients, and competitors.
- Support the formulation of go-to-market strategies for new service offerings or regional expansions.
2. Client & Relationship Management
- Develop and maintain relationships with FPSO owners, EPC contractors, shipyards, and offshore operators.
- Serve as a technical-commercial interface between clients and internal teams.
- Participate in client meetings, presentations, and industry networking events.
- Maintain consistent communication with clients to understand requirements and identify potential opportunities.
3. Tender & Proposal Support
- Support preparation of prequalification packages, tenders, and commercial proposals, especially for mechanical, electrical, or commissioning scopes.
- Coordinate with internal teams (engineering, procurement, project) to gather technical inputs.
- Ensure proposals are submitted on time, accurately, and aligned with client specifications.
- Monitor tender results and follow up with clients for feedback and future opportunities.
4. Internal Coordination
- Liaise closely with project, engineering, and supply chain departments to ensure alignment of sales strategy and project delivery.
- Maintain CRM records for leads, contacts, and project pipelines.
- Prepare regular sales activity reports, forecasts, and market updates for management review.
Qualifications & Experience
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Instrumentation, or related discipline) or Business/Marketing with strong technical understanding.
Experience:
- Minimum 3–6 years of business development, sales, or technical-commercial experience in the offshore, oil & gas, FPSO, or EPCI industry.
- Working knowledge of commissioning, mechanical, or electrical systems in FPSO or offshore facilities.
- Familiarity with project lifecycles (EPC / EPCI / commissioning) and client requirements.
- Experience liaising with EPCs, shipyards, or offshore contractors is a strong advantage.
