Job description
About the Role:

We are seeking a Business Design Analyst to join us in supply chain process optimization domain. The successful candidate will be on secondment to our business partner company established to oversee and expand the group’s operations in the Asia‑Pacific region, playing an integral role in driving business growth, fostering partnerships, and supporting the region’s economic development. The company's import, export, and domestic businesses encompass a diverse range of products including automobiles, automotive parts, accessories, electronic components, metals, plastics, chemicals, and food products.

Role Clarity: Read Before Applying

What this role is NOT: This is not a Logistics Coordinator, Inventory Planner, or Operational Kaizen role. If your experience is primarily in managing daily shipping schedules, warehouse line balancing, or routine process optimization, this role is not for you.

What this role IS:

This is an internal strategy and innovation role. We are seeking a "Business Designer" who works with a Lead Innovator to fundamentally transform our vendor‑to‑vendor business paradigm. You will analyse abstract business landscapes, not just operational spreadsheets.

Which Profile Are You?

We are hiring at one of two levels depending on your experience and capability.

Profile A: The "Critical Thinker" (Associate Analyst)

Salary Range: SGD 4,500 – 5,500

Best for: High‑potential candidates (1–3 years experience) or exceptional fresh graduates.

The Expectation: We do not expect you to know our specific domain or technology immediately—we will train you from scratch.

Your Value: Your value lies in your intellectual bravery. We are not looking for a "yes‑man" or a passive note‑taker. You must possess the confidence to:

  • Contribute original thoughts to discussions.
  • Politely but firmly challenge assumptions made by senior stakeholders.
  • Avoid simply agreeing with the room; we need you to add unique value to the debate.

Key Trait: High cognitive agility — the ability to learn fast, think critically, and ask "Why?" repeatedly.

Profile B: The "Strategic Navigator" (Senior Analyst)

Salary Range: SGD 5,500 – 6,500

Best for: Experienced candidates (3+ years) who can navigate ambiguity.

The Expectation: You are expected to bring an existing toolkit. You must be able to navigate abstract, complex, and uncertain situations without needing step‑by‑step instructions.

Your Value: You can independently synthesize three pillars: Business Models, Supply Chain Management, and Technology.

  • Note: We can accept candidates who are strong in two of these pillars and willing to learn the third (e.g., Strong Tech + Supply Chain, learning Business Models). We cannot accept candidates missing all three.

Key Trait: Architecting solutions. You don't just identify problems; you structure the path forward using digital technologies and strategic foresight.

Core Responsibilities (Both Levels)
  • Business Model Innovation: Champion initiatives that push beyond incremental improvements to innovate the fundamental core value proposition of our supply chain models.
  • Problem Diagnosis: Deeply grasp customer business needs, diagnose root issues (not just symptoms), and identify critical constraints in the competitive landscape.
  • Strategic Alignment: Articulate how customer business challenges can be effectively addressed by our service menu, fostering value‑driven partnerships.
  • Pipeline Development: Proactively identify business goals ripe for transformation and cultivate a robust pipeline of Digital Transformation (DX) solutions.
  • Management Insight: Develop a comprehensive understanding of how General Managers (GMs) operate, identifying their key decision‑making drivers.
  • Knowledge Leadership: Contribute significantly to curating a central knowledge repository of critical business know‑how.
Required Education & Skills
  • Education: Degree in Business Administration, Strategy, Economics, or Industrial/Mechanical Engineering. Note for Engineering grads: You must demonstrate a passion for business strategy (e.g., case competitions, entrepreneurship, minor in business). Pure technical engineering profiles will not be selected.
  • Strategic Thinking: Strong foresight to anticipate future industry trends and their impact on business models.
  • Communication: Excellent presentation and interpersonal skills, capable of engaging with all levels from operational teams to executive leadership.
  • Resilience: Adaptable and capable of navigating ambiguity in a fast‑paced global environment.
Travel Requirements
  • The role requires short monthly overseas travel in the Asia‑Pacific region to meet with customers, partners, and internal teams.
Benefits
  • Competitive salary (SGD 4,500 – 6,500, commensurate with level).
  • Flexible working hours and hybrid working arrangements.
  • Close collaboration with senior professionals on high‑impact strategic initiatives.
  • Opportunity for rapid professional growth.
