A renowned intellectual property firm in Singapore seeks a Patent Attorney to lead its life sciences practice. The role involves managing a team, developing business strategies, and advising clients on intellectual property law. Candidates should have a scientific background and experience in patent drafting and prosecution. Move to a large international intellectual property firm to lead its life sciences practice in Singapore. You will have a broad range of intellectual property law and technical experience as well as being confident in an advice-led approach to clients. Whilst other relevant languages to the area may be useful only English is required. Patent Attorneys qualified in any major jurisdiction will be considered. You will be comfortable with all aspects of running a practice – managing a team; training attorneys so they achieve success in their examinations; resource management and developing a strategy for business growth.
There is an extensive existing portfolio of work across biotechnology, nanotechnology, molecular biology and biochemistry with some very high-profile clients for the firm as a whole. This is a long-term opportunity to develop your career in Singapore building a profile as a leader in the region.
The firm are open minded on the candidate profiles they will consider. You should have a relevant scientific background and have practiced primarily in the areas of patent drafting and prosecution as well as having patent strategy experience. You should be comfortable managing a team as well as networking and business development. Some experience of South East Asia or China could be advantageous but this could simply be gleaned from working with Asian businesses or travel to the region.
