Job summary

Job description

Redstone Commodity Search are working with a global conglomerate looking for a base metal trader (physical) with working knowledge of the LME to join their growing team in Singapore.

Responsibilities
  • Support the sales and trading activities of the base metals team, including pricing, deal execution, and documentation.
  • Assist in monitoring market movements and developing basic pricing strategies using both physical and derivative tools (e.g., LME futures).
  • Work closely with senior traders on P&L monitoring and deal structuring.
  • Help coordinate with back office and logistics teams to ensure smooth execution of trades.
  • Participate in contract review and preparation, ensuring accuracy and alignment with internal processes.
  • Build relationships with customers, suppliers, and internal stakeholders through daily communication and support.
  • Assist with researching new market opportunities, customer requirements, and competitor analysis.
  • Learn and apply risk management concepts, including hedging and exposure tracking in the base metals market.
  • Be open to occasional business travel to support regional activities and client visits.
Qualifications & Experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Economics, Engineering, or a related field.
  • Up to 2–3 years of relevant experience in trading, commercial, or operations roles within commodities or logistics (internships included).
  • Experience in base metals and commodity derivatives (LME knowledge is a plus).
  • Strong analytical, communication, and organizational skills.
  • Eagerness to learn in a fast-paced, international trading environment.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other analytical tools.
  • Fluent in English; additional language skills are a plus.
