Job description

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable and resilient cloud-based backend services.
• Own backend deliverables and collaborate closely with cross-functional development teams.
• Design and implement business logic using appropriate data structures and algorithms.
• Build, test, document, and deploy APIs, integrations, and batch jobs.
• Ensure high code quality through test‑driven development and design for testability.
• Apply DevOps best practices to enable automated testing, CI/CD, and deployments.
• Mentor and guide junior engineers.

Must‑Have Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent practical experience.
• Strong programming fundamentals with solid knowledge of data structures and algorithms.
• Proven experience in backend system design and distributed architectures.
• 4+ years of backend development experience for production systems (preferably Go).
• Hands‑on experience with AWS or GCP and cloud‑native services (2+ years).
• Experience with SQL databases, schema design, and performance optimisation.
• Familiarity with Redis or other in‑memory data stores.
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines, containerisation (Docker), and orchestration (Kubernetes).

Preferred Qualifications

• Deep understanding of scalability, high availability, and resilient system design.
• Experience with infrastructure‑as‑code and DevOps tools (Terraform, Ansible, Jenkins, GitLab CI).
• Strong troubleshooting and debugging skills in complex systems.
• Experience contributing to or working with open‑source projects.
• Self‑driven mindset with continuous learning attitude.
