Job Description - AVP, Business Analyst, Operations COO - Operational Risk Management, Group Operations (WD71731)

Group Operations group is key to enabling the DBS vision of being the best bank in the world.

The key mandate of Ops COO- ORM (Operational Risk Management) – Core Analytics team is to drive / enable core risk data & analytics capabilities essential for key operational risk decisions, balancing innovation and resiliency.

One of the major programs is to drive the Risk Control Tower deliverables, reviewing operations risk data and turning into useful and sustainable dashboards for risk decision making, as part of the Unified Ops Control Tower.

The incumbent will be responsible for ensuring consistency in the operational support, user experience and data assurance of the Risk Control Tower metrics/rituals, including contributing to improvements to the operational sustainability and user adoption.

Responsibilities

Support the Risk Control Tower program on biz/data analyst support & enhancements for effective and sustainable metrics/visualizations.

Work closely with key stakeholder and users from Line Operations & Risk SMEs to ensure effectiveness and reliability of the metrics and dashboards in the Risk Control Tower.

  • Manage the effectiveness & reliability of the metrics and dashboards
  • Work with Data source providers & Technology teams to ensure data or workflow quality
  • Initiate improvements to derive more insights from the metrics/dashboards
  • Manage and govern changes in the metrics and dashboards in the Risk Control Tower to achieve agreed outcomes
    • Analyze and review operations risk data and use case requirements with key parties
    • Analyze use case requirements, and define data and visualization/analytics requirements
    • Collaborate with data specialist, scientist & tech for risk data & analytics solutions
    • Manage the implementation of requirements and revised workflows with key parties
    • Provide prompt updates / escalation to management / stakeholders
    • Recommend further use cases to optimize the data and analytics solutions
    • Contribute to the upskilling of risk SMEs and Risk Control Tower users in the use of the delivered dashboards / solutions
    • Ensure compliance from Data Stewardship and Application Ownership perspective for the Risk Control Tower data and key application (ORDA).
Requirements
  • Degree holder in Computer Science, Engineering or equivalent with 6-10 years of working experience, with exposure to Business/Operations/Risk Management environment.
  • 3-5 years of Biz/Data Analyst experience, performing data mining/dashboard development using various tools and developing analytics of various degrees for insights, dealing with large amount of data.
  • Knowledge and experience in BI/Analytics tools, analytics processes.
  • Knowledge and experience in software tools and Agile methodology is advantageous.
  • Good understanding of data mining and analytics concepts.
  • Curious and passionate about solving business problems with attention to detail.
  • Strong analytical skills, including ability to analyse multiple datasets, challenge use cases based on business requirements, present insights using fit-for-purpose visualisation techniques.
  • Experience in data/dashboard management and stakeholder/user management.
  • Able to communicate clearly and interact professionally with a diverse group, executives, managers, and subject matter experts.
  • Independent self-starter with ability to multi-task and has a ‘can-do’ attitude.
  • Resourceful in leveraging tools with data visualization/analytics/machine learning capabilities.
  • Exposure to the application of advanced analytical techniques to business problems.
  • Programming experience in SQL query, SAS, R, Python or other statistical software is useful.
