The Strategy and Impact team reports directly to the CEO and leads the development of Temasek Foundation’s overall impact strategy which will guide the Foundation’s work in the long-term. The Strategy & Impact team works closely with internal and external stakeholders on matters pertaining to strategic planning, research and trend analysis, and impact and outcome measurement of programmes for collective impact and reporting.
Responsibilities
- Ongoing strategy development and planning for insights on overall foundation portfolio allocation and approach, including harmonising the Foundation’s annual workplan and budgeting process and approvals.
- Oversee alignment of objectives, metrics, and targets throughout the entire portfolio, with an iterative approach to leverage impact data and to inform strategic decisions.
- Work with the Director and Management to drive the alignment of the work of Impact Teams and programmes to strategy and implementation plans. As needed, to support the refresh of strategies and mandates and develop frameworks.
- Undertake horizon scanning to identify relevant global and regional trends, including philanthropic models, applying futures-thinking and systems view to current and emerging challenges to continually sharpen and update the Foundation’s Impact Strategy to remain relevant.
- Engage, negotiate, and liaise with stakeholders within the wider Temasek ecosystem on the development and implementation of strategic and impact initiatives, including analysis, facilitation, presentations and materials.
- Support Board and management decision making as a bridge between the Management team, internal stakeholders and teams and to drive the agenda for Board and Management meetings.
- In addition, the individual may be required to support projects and/or institutional initiatives, where appropriate.
Requirements
- Degree holder from a recognised institution.
- Minimum 10 years working experience in any relevant discipline.
- Adept in strategic and operational planning, including critical-path thinking, setting priorities, and planning.
- Relevant skills and experience in policy and budget development, impact management, consultancy; excellent project management skills with strong attention to detail balanced with timely execution.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills; ability to identify and communicate external and internal dynamics, as well as articulate implications for strategy, priorities, including organisational and team evolution.
- Proficiency in Microsoft 365 apps (PowerPoint, Excel, OneDrive, To Do etc.), Salesforce, and exposure to open-source visual software and generative AI tools.
- Relevant experience or strong interest with the philanthropy sector, corporate social responsibility, community and social development is favoured.
