Job summary

A leading financial institution in Singapore is looking for a Credit & Account Management specialist to provide end-to-end support for client due diligence and credit review processes. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 5 years of experience in corporate or investment banking, particularly in the APAC region. Job description

The Credit & Account Management (“CAM”) department provides end-to-end support on internal workflow processes related to client due diligence, credit review and control, as well as continuing management of legal covenants and credit conditions within the APAC Global Corporate & Investment Banking business in MUFG Bank Ltd.

CAM is positioned as a trusted partner to the front office where the tasks of navigating internal risk approval processes in compliance with established MUFG policies and procedures will be addressed in a consistent and efficient manner, thus leaving the front office focused on the execution of strategies that support fulfilment of clients’ needs and requirements.

CAM’s portfolio purview includes sovereign agencies, financial institutions (banks and non-banks), corporates, special purpose vehicles (including non-recourse arrangements) for project finance, real estate and aviation sectors, as well as specialised commodities trade finance.

Job Responsibilities
  • Conduct due diligence of new and existing clients and counterparties to facilitate credit reviews and support portfolio management;
  • Manage legal covenants to ensure periodic tests are conducted accurately and in a timely manner as part of ongoing portfolio monitoring duties. Follow-up on credit actions to ensure breaches are addressed adequately;
  • Support the relationship managers in the preparation and update of client account materials for regional Deal Screening Committee approval;
  • Conduct product suitability reviews for new and existing clients in accordance with MUFG’s established policies and procedures;
  • Collaborate effectively with the Legal department and external counsel where required;
  • Support the continuous development of regional/global risk frameworks, including the resolution of complex credit processes or operational risk issues;
  • Provide support to continuous improvement projects and initiatives, incl. the update of operating policies and procedures to ensure compliance with all applicable regulatory standards;
  • Support in internal and external audits (Credit Examination, JFSA / MAS / BoJ / RBI / Statutory etc.) by coordinating required activities for the department;
  • Maintain good working knowledge of industry trends, products, relevant laws and regulations;
  • Upkeep department standards by adhering to company policies and procedures;
  • Provide junior members of the team with guidance and support;
Job Requirements
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in an analytical or client coverage role within corporate or investment banking covering the APAC region.
  • Knowledge of structured products or project finance will be an added advantage;
  • Degree in Accounting, Finance or Engineering Science.
  • Post-graduate qualifications or professional qualifications such as CA / CFA / FRM / MBA will be an added advantage;
  • Strong knowledge of financial terms and ability in data analysis to identify areas of strength, weakness and non-sustainability;
  • Proficient in Excel and other MS Office applications.
  • Expertise in data analytics using Bloomberg is an added advantage;
  • Other required skill sets include problem-solving with an innovative and pragmatic approach, good interpersonal skills and collaborative mindset, the ability to work independently and under time pressure, multi-tasking while being able to maintain attention on details with high accuracy; ability to analyse and interpret large datasets
