About Maybank Securities

Maybank Securities, a leading brokerage and investment bank with a reach extending across ASEAN, the UK and the US, offers a comprehensive suite of services. These include corporate finance & advisory, navigating debt and equity capital markets, derivatives trading, brokerage and research for both retail and institutional investors, and prime brokerage. This position reports to the Head of Retail Sales Management.

Responsibilities
  1. Sales management and relationship building
    • Liaise with Trading Representatives (TRs) to ensure smooth execution of day-to-day operations, developing a deep understanding of front-to-back processes.
    • Handle TR operational queries, approvals, and escalations, maintaining close coordination with Operations, Compliance, Risk, and IT.
    • Oversee TR incentive and KPI tracking, including performance review and bonus-payout recommendations aligned to approved frameworks.
  2. Sales-force strategy and growth
    • Work closely with the Head of Retail Sales Management to develop strategies for expanding sales headcount, including recruitment, onboarding, and retention of new dealers, remisiers, and trading representatives.
    • Formulate and execute action plans to strengthen sales coverage, improve productivity, and build a more diversified sales base.
    • Collaborate with HR, Compliance, and Onboarding teams to ensure new TR recruitment adheres to regulatory requirements and fits business growth objectives.
    • Monitor sales-force performance metrics and propose enhancement initiatives to drive engagement, motivation, and revenue growth.
  3. Business intelligence and strategic reporting
    • Prepare business performance dashboards and management reports to support senior leadership decision-making.
    • Partner with the data analytics team to identify trends, performance gaps, and opportunities, leveraging data-driven insights to determine key areas for focus and improvement.
    • Conduct competitor analysis, market intelligence reviews, and profitability tracking.
    • Act as an internal business management officer to prepare and disseminate strategic business reports for senior management, highlighting progress against goals, strategic initiatives, and market positioning.
    • Support annual business planning, budgeting, and target-setting exercises, monitoring sales performance against KPIs.
  4. Product and partnership development
    • Drive partnership initiatives with internal & external financial institutions, including affiliates and other strategic partners such as fund houses, fintech firms, and product issuers.
    • Collaborate with internal product and investment teams to develop and introduce new financial offerings, including ETFs, structured notes, margin-linked solutions, digital investment tools, and alternative products.
    • Coordinate marketing campaigns, sales enablement programmes, and cross-selling initiatives across Maybank Group entities.
    • Ensure all partnership and product initiatives comply with governance, risk, and regulatory standards.
  5. Retail Equity Capital Market (ECM) and placement coordination
    • Facilitate the completion of retail ECM and placement deals, from documentation through to settlement (excluding origination).
    • Coordinate with internal stakeholders and TRs to ensure compliance with placement procedures, marketing communications, and investor declarations.
  6. Business transformation and strategic projects
    • Contribute to RSM’s transformation agenda through digital enablement, system upgrades, and process re-engineering.
    • Participate in the design and rollout of TR development programmes, sales productivity tools, and capability-building workshops.
    • Provide project-management and analytical support in new product launches or regulatory-change initiatives led by Group or regional teams.
Requirements
  • Degree in Banking, Finance, Business, or a related field
  • Minimum 6 years in financial services, brokerage, or investment product management
  • Strong knowledge of brokerage operations, sales-force management, and retail capital-market products.
  • Experience in partnership development, product management, or business expansion within a financial institution.
  • Proficient in business performance reporting, financial analysis, and project execution.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with ability to engage TRs, senior management, and external partners effectively.
  • Highly driven, resourceful, and adaptable to a fast-changing business environment.
  • Familiarity with MAS and SGX regulatory frameworks and risk-management practices.
  • Analytical thinker with good problem-solving and process-improvement orientation.
Preferred Attributes
  • Prior experience in retail brokerage, ECM coordination, or sales-force management roles.
  • Exposure to recruitment and development of sales representatives, partnership structuring, or fintech collaboration projects.
  • Ability to work across functions and geographies within Maybank Group.
