Qualifications

  • 3–10 years of relevant experience in Credit Risk, Securities Financing, Prime Brokerage, or related areas.
  • Familiarity with margin financing, CFDs, VaR, stress testing, and collateral assessment.
  • Meticulous, resourceful, and able to manage multiple stakeholders in a fast-paced environment.

About Maybank Securities

This role reports directly to the Chief Risk Officer.

Responsibilities
Credit Assessment & Limit Setting
  • Conduct detailed credit analysis on counterparties, corporate clients, and trading clients; prepare credit proposals and recommend credit limits to the Credit Underwriting Committee.
  • Evaluate equity, fixed income and other financial instruments to determine appropriate margin rates and risk parameters for CFD and Share Financing products.
  • Assess liquidity, volatility, concentration, and idiosyncratic risks of proposed collateral and client portfolios.
Ongoing Portfolio Monitoring & Risk Controls
  • Monitor client exposures, margin utilisation and concentration levels on a daily basis; ensure timely issuance of margin calls and adherence to risk thresholds.
  • Perform periodic client reviews, portfolio reviews to ensure adequate collateral coverage
  • Escalate limit breaches and risk exceptions promptly with clear recommendations.
Reporting, Governance & Process Enhancement
  • Prepare and enhance risk reports for Management, Board, and relevant risk committees, ensuring transparency, accuracy, and insightful commentary.
  • Drive improvements in reporting processes, data quality, and system workflows to strengthen overall risk monitoring capabilities.
  • Support the development and enhancement of credit risk frameworks, policies, and methodologies.
Projects & Ad-Hoc Analysis
  • Perform ad‑hoc analysis on equities, bonds, derivatives, and other financial instruments as required.
  • Support strategic initiatives and system enhancement projects within the Risk Management Department.
  • Assist in preparing materials for senior management forums and cross‑functional working groups.
Qualification Requirement
  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Accounting, Engineering, or related quantitative discipline.
  • 3–10 years of relevant experience in Credit Risk, Securities Financing, Prime Brokerage, or related areas.
  • Strong analytical skills with a solid understanding of financial statements, counterparty evaluations and credit assessments.
  • Familiarity with margin financing, CFDs, VaR, stress testing, and collateral assessment.
  • Proficiency in Excel; knowledge of VBA preferred
  • Meticulous, resourceful, and able to manage multiple stakeholders in a fast‑paced environment.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to articulate credit views clearly in both written and verbal form.
