Investment Stewardship plays an important role in driving long term capital value across Temasek’s investments in two ways.

First, we advance robust governance policy, practice and engagement across our Temasek portfolio companies.

Second, we engage investment market participants relevant for our portfolio companies, translating insights into sustainable value outcomes.

We work closely with portfolio management and boards on various matters such as voting, board governance, risk management, investor relations and capital markets positioning.

Responsibilities
  • Drive and execute on the investment stewardship strategy to (i) advocate for good corporate governance practices, (ii) expand investor engagements and (iii) enhance our engagement model with portfolio companies.
  • Develop strong professional networks across corporate governance thought leaders, proxy advisors, global investors, sell‑side analysts and portfolio companies.
  • Track best practices and emerging corporate governance and capital markets trends to better advise Temasek and assess our portfolio companies vs. market landscape.
  • Extract market insights from market participants, distill implications to portfolio companies’ strategies, and ideate value‑creation opportunities for our portfolio companies.
  • Collaborate across Temasek to drive a holistic effort for effective portfolio company engagement and capital value creation.
Requirements
  • A bachelor's degree in law, business, finance, or a related field.
  • A minimum of 6 years of experience in corporate governance, banking, consulting or investing/asset management roles.
  • Strong grounding in equity markets, valuation and investment analysis is a priority.
  • Knowledge of the corporate governance regulations and standards in Asia, America and Europe (including proxy advisor practices and guidelines) is preferred.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to synthesize complex information and convey it in a clear and concise manner to senior‑level audiences.
  • Team player; ability to work independently and also collaboratively with various stakeholders.
