A recruitment agency in Singapore is looking for an experienced procurement professional to support shipbuilding projects. The role involves coordinating procurement activities, sourcing vendors, managing contracts, and ensuring compliance with company policies. Ideal candidates should have at least 5 years of experience in the marine or shipyard industry and hold a degree in Supply Chain or related fields. Strong communication skills are essential. Responsibilities:
Collaborate closely with the Newbuilding Commercial Team to support procurement planning and execution for assigned shipbuilding projects.
Develop and manage procurement timelines in line with project schedules and shipyard requirements.
Coordinate with internal teams (engineering, project management, and finance) to ensure technical specifications, budget constraints, and delivery expectations are fulfilled.
Source, assess, and select vendors for shipboard equipment, systems, and components.
Request, analyze, and negotiate quotations to secure competitive pricing and optimal commercial terms.
Oversee the preparation, approval, and issuance of purchase orders (POs).
Ensure all purchasing activities comply with company policies and contractual requirements.
Review and negotiate contractual terms to ensure alignment with project objectives and company standards.
Demonstrate strong knowledge of intercompany (Interco) freight arrangements, Incoterms, and logistics coordination.
Assist in commercial assessments and supplier selection alongside cross-functional teams.
Maintain accurate procurement records, including PO trackers, procurement logs, and supplier information.
Track delivery timelines and proactively address any delays, deviations, or issues.
Work closely with finance and shipyard commercial teams on invoice validation, payment processing, and document management.
Prepare and present regular procurement progress reports to management.
Ensure procurement activities comply with company procedures, shipyard standards, and classification society regulations.
Support internal audits and compliance reviews when required.
Identify and propose enhancements to procurement processes, supplier performance, and cost efficiency.
Requirements:
Diploma/Degree in Supply Chain, Marine Engineering, Business, or any related fields.
Minimum 5 years of working experience in Marine/ Shipyard industry.
Excellent communication and presentation skills
