Job summary

A leading HR advisory firm in Singapore is seeking an Assistant Marine Surveyor to conduct surveys on ships and cargo. The ideal candidate will have a relevant qualification in marine studies and experience onboard vessels is an advantage. This role involves working at irregular hours, including weekends and public holidays, with opportunities for overseas travel based on performance.

Qualifications

• Experience onboard vessels is advantageous, particularly for ex-seafarers, ex-Navy, ex-PCG, and ex-SCDF.
• Prepared to work at irregular hours including weekends and public holidays.

Responsibilities

• Conduct various types of surveys on board ships and at cargo sites.
• Perform marine surveys and cargo inspections to assess conditions for insurance claims.
• Verify compliance of equipment onboard vessels.

Assistant Marine Surveyor

Location: West

Working Location: Islandwide [On ship]

Working Days: 5 Day A Week

Working hours : 0830 hrs to 1730 hrs [Prepared to work irregular hour due to ship schedule/Public Holiday]

Salary : $2500-$3000

Job Scope

• To attend / carry out various types of survey on board ships and sites on cargo, cargo measuring equipment and marine related activities.
• To perform marine survey onboard vessels and cargo inspection on sites in order to assess and report on their condition for insurance claim.
• To verify the equipment onboard vessel to ensure compliance with various standards or specifications.

Job Requirement

• Nitec/ITE related in Marine or Diploma in Nautical, Maritime Studies, Marine Engineering or Marine related from a local polytechnic/private institution.
• Experience onboard vessel will be an advantage such as Ex-Sea farers, Ex-Navy, Ex-PCG (police coast guard) and Ex-SCDF (marine)
• Prepare to work at irregular hours as well as on weekends and Public Holidays) due to ships’ schedule.
• Opportunity to travel overseas upon satisfactorily performance and skill.
• Successful candidate will be on six months' probation.
