Job summary

A leading finance company in Singapore seeks an experienced Accountant to manage full sets of accounts. Responsibilities include overseeing daily accounting operations, preparing financial reports, and supporting audits. The ideal candidate has a degree in Accountancy and at least 5 years of experience in the Shipping Industry. Strong knowledge of Singapore corporate laws and a team player attitude are essential. The role offers flexible hours coordinating with overseas teams.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 5 years working experience in Shipping Industry with full sets of accounts.
  • Knowledge of Singapore corporate laws, Tax Accounts and Financial Reporting Standards.
  • Interest in digitalization of work processes and financial systems.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee full sets of accounting and report to Management and Finance Head.
  • Manage day-to-day accounting operations including AR, AP & Bank transactions.
  • Support internal and external audit and filing of Company's Annual Returns.
  • Prepare annual budget and forecasts.

Job description

Reporting to the Finance Manager /Senior Finance Team, responsible for Financial Statements preparation to perform month-end closing, delivering accurate and timely accounting reports, daily work closely with oversea Accounts Senior & team ensuring timely payments and receipts required.

  • Oversee full sets of accounting & report to Managements and Finance Head.

  • Manage day-to-day accounting operations (AR, AP & Bank transactions) & Cash Flow projection and analysis.

  • Support internal & external audit up to filing of Company's Annual Returns.

  • Timely & accurate financial reporting & analysis.

  • Timely & accurate Company tax (yearly ECI) & Quarterly GST reporting.

  • Liaising with Company's secretary for all secretarial works & Statutory boards.

  • Annual budget & forecasts.

  • Admin duties and maintain important statutory and other commercial documents.

  • Any other ad-hoc duties and able to manage any other group company's accounting works as assigned by Finance head.

Job Requirements
  • Degree in Accountancy or Chartered Accountant equivalent

  • Good knowledge of accounting systems and have worked extensively in an ERP environment will be an added advantage.

  • With knowledge in Singapore corporate laws, Tax Accounts and Financial Reporting Standards.

  • Strong interest in digitalization to improve work processes, with ability to identify, initiate and support improvement of financial systems and processes.

  • Hands-on, team player, and good communication skills.

  • Committed, able to multi-task & work fast pace.

  • At least 5 years working experience in Shipping Industry with handling full sets of accounts independently.

  • Able to work Flexi-hours - day to day coordinating with Oversea Teams (10AM – 7 PM) / (11AM – 8 PM).
