What the role is

You lead MINDEF/SAF's multi-year experimentation agenda, driving exploration of alternative operational concepts and technology enablers.

What you will be working on
  • Design, plan and oversee experimentation programs in actual exercises that test innovations in real operational settings alongside operation users
  • Work with partners to design, execute, and evaluate experimentation
  • Drive the operationalisation of successful capabilities to ensure the SAF remains agile and ahead of emerging threats
Challenge(s)
  • Coordinating federated experiments
  • Balancing innovation speed with safety
  • Gaining organisation-wide buy-in
  • Reviewing legacy processes and policies
What we are looking for
  • Education in Engineering, Technology, or a related field
  • At least 8 years of experience in innovation programme management, transformation leadership, defence operations or capability development
  • Strong strategic thinking and analytical skills
  • Funding management expertise
  • Stakeholder engagement and communication skills
  • Ability to decide under pressure
  • Proactive, pragmatic, and resilient approach
