A regulatory body for public transport in Singapore is seeking a team member to review public transport fare policy. Responsibilities include engaging with stakeholders, performing statistical analysis, drafting policy papers, and ensuring successful implementation of policies. At the Public Transport Council, we strive to bring about a quality and affordable public transport system for the people of Singapore by regulating public transport fares and ticket payment services. Established in 1987 under the Public Transport Council Act (Cap 2598), we operate within the ambit of the Public Transport Council Act and in accordance with overarching public transport policies.
You will be part of a team responsible for the public transport fare policy review, as well as carrying out the regulatory and licensing functions of the Public Transport Council. This will include engaging stakeholders and industry players to develop policy options to ensure fare affordability and financial sustainability for the public transport system, performing statistical analysis, drafting policy papers and reviewing legislation. You will also work with stakeholders to ensure successful implementation of policies, work closely with other government agencies and regulated entities to be effective in the role.
The mission of the Public Transport Council is to work in collaboration with commuters, transport operators and government agencies to improve our public transport system by keeping public transport fares affordable while ensuring the sustainability of the public transport system; and providing objective, evidence-based advice to the Government to improve the service quality of public transport and commuters’ travelling experience.
