What You’ll Achieve

As a Senior Principal AI Application Engineer, you will be a technical leader driving the adoption and architecture of AI‑assisted engineering practices across Dell’s solution platforms. Your role focuses on defining patterns, frameworks, and best practices for leveraging AI tools to accelerate software development, improve quality, and enable innovation. You will work closely with multiple engineering teams to ensure AI‑driven capabilities are consistently and effectively integrated into the development lifecycle.

You will:
  • Lead the design and architecture of AI‑assisted engineering frameworks and automation pipelines for Dell solution platforms, define best practices and governance models for using AI tools (e.g., code generation, intelligent testing, automated documentation) in enterprise software development.
  • Mentor and coach engineers on advanced AI‑assisted development techniques, elevating team capabilities.
  • Drive technical decision‑making for integrating AI‑driven workflows into CI/CD pipelines and platform delivery processes.
  • Collaborate with architects and product teams to ensure AI‑enabled engineering aligns with Dell’s platform strategy and security standards.
  • Continuously evaluate emerging AI technologies and recommend adoption strategies to improve engineering efficiency and developer experience.

Essential Requirements
  • Master’s degree in Computer Science or related field with 10+ years of experience in software engineering or platform development.
  • Proven experience architecting and leading large‑scale enterprise software projects with strong focus on automation and quality.
  • Deep expertise in cloud‑native environments (OpenShift, Kubernetes) and CI/CD pipelines.
  • Hands‑on experience with AI‑assisted development tools and integrating LLM‑based services into engineering workflows.
  • Excellent leadership and communication skills, with the ability to influence technical direction across multiple teams.
Desirable Requirements
  • Experience implementing AI‑driven automation for testing, security, or performance optimization.
  • Familiarity with Dell solution platforms (e.g., VxRail, PowerStore, PowerFlex) and enterprise infrastructure.
  • Familiarity with virtualization and hypervisor technologies, especially VMware vSphere/ESXi, vCenter, and related ecosystem components.
  • Knowledge of hyper‑converged infrastructure (HCI) and enterprise storage solutions, including VMware vSAN and Dell PowerStore.
  • Understanding of network virtualization and SDN technologies, particularly VMware NSX, including concepts like VXLAN, distributed switching, and micro‑segmentation.
  • Experience with Kubernetes/OpenShift for container orchestration and integration with virtualized environments.
  • Familiarity with infrastructure automation tools (e.g., Ansible, Terraform, Helm) and CI/CD practices for enterprise environments.
