Qualifications

• Familiarity with Actuate iServer / Encyclopedia administration is a strong advantage.

Job description

We are seeking an experienced Actuate Developer with strong expertise in Actuate Information Report Technology (IRT) and BIRT (Business Intelligence and Reporting Tools) to join our financial services and insurance practice in Singapore. You will design, develop, and maintain high-performance reporting solutions for tier‑1 banking and insurance clients using Actuate/BIRT platforms.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and develop complex Actuate reports (e.g., Page‑Level, Flash, Interactive Viewer, Max reports) using Actuate Report Designer, e.Report Designer Professional, and BIRT Designer.
• Build and optimize Report Object Library (ROL) components, reusable templates, and custom Java extensions.
• Perform data extraction, transformation, and integration using Actuate Information Object (IO) and SQL queries against Oracle, SQL Server, and DB2 databases.
• Migrate legacy Actuate reports (v9/v10/v11) to newer versions or to BIRT 4.x.
• Implement performance tuning (caching, parallel processing, volume testing) for large‑volume reports.
• Integrate Actuate/BIRT reports with client portals (Java/J2EE, .NET, or web services).
• Provide production support, troubleshoot report failures, and manage Encyclopedia volume administration.
• Collaborate with business analysts, data architects, and project managers in Agile/Scrum teams.
• Document technical specifications, deployment guides, and conduct knowledge transfer sessions.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT, or equivalent.
• Minimum 3–8 years of hands‑on Actuate development (Actuate 9/10/11, SP4, BIRT 3.x/4.x).
• Strong proficiency in Actuate e.Report Designer, Information Object Designer, and BIRT Designer Pro.
• Solid SQL and relational database skills (Oracle 12c/19c, SQL Server).
• Experience with Java scripting inside Actuate reports and custom factory classes.
• Familiarity with Actuate iServer / Encyclopedia administration is a strong advantage.
• Prior exposure to financial services or insurance reporting projects (e.g., regulatory reports, policy statements, risk reports) highly preferred.
• Knowledge of integration with Java web applications (Tomcat, WebSphere) and REST/SOAP services.
• Excellent problem‑solving, communication, and client‑facing skills.
• Ability to work under tight deadlines in consulting/project‑based environments.

Nice‑to‑Have

• Actuate/BIRT certification.
• Experience with OpenText Exstream or JasperReports as secondary skills.
• Basic knowledge of DevOps tools (Jenkins, Git) for report deployment automation.
