Job title: Accounting Manager (Shared Services)

Our client serves as the APAC regional headquarters for a renowned manufacturer of consumer solutions, industrial components, and devices. The regional office oversees subsidiaries across Asia Pacific and provides shared services to drive operational excellence.

They are seeking an Accounting Manager to oversee shared service accounting operations, ensure accurate and timely financial reporting, and maintain compliance with accounting standards and internal controls. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong technical accounting expertise and the ability to lead a team in a shared services environment.

This position reports to the General Manager.

Responsibilities
  • Manage and monitor daily accounting activities within the shared services function, ensuring operational efficiency.
  • Prepare, review, and analyze accounting data to produce financial reports and statements, including consolidations and budgets.
  • Support the Corporate Tax team with annual tax submissions and assist with tax inquiries.
  • Partner with internal stakeholders to ensure effective communication and service delivery across the shared services team.
  • Implement, maintain, and enforce accounting procedures and internal policies in alignment with regulatory and corporate requirements.
  • Coordinate external and internal audits, ensuring timely completion and compliance.
  • Evaluate existing processes and recommend improvements, including the use of financial tools to enhance workflow efficiency.
  • Assign responsibilities and supervise team members to ensure accuracy, compliance, and timely delivery of outputs.
  • Prepare and review financial statements and management reports.
  • Oversee the annual office insurance approval process.
  • Ensure compliance with J-SOX and relevant regulatory standards.

Requirements & Preferences

(Must)

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • CPA or Professional Accounting Qualification such as ACCA, CIMA, etc.
  • At least 10 years of experience in people management within a finance shared services environment.
  • Experience in SAP and familiarity with financial tools.
  • Ability to review, analyze, and manage large data sets.
  • Strong knowledge of bookkeeping, accounting principles, standards, practices, and regulatory requirements.
  • High attention to detail and accuracy.
  • People-centric and customer-centric mindset.
