Job Summary
The Project Engineer will lead and coordinate project activities to ensure successful delivery of rail E&M system installations and upgrades within Singapore’s transit environment. You will drive compliance, quality, and timely execution by collaborating with cross‑functional teams and stakeholders, resolving site issues, and monitoring project progress to meet strategic objectives.
Responsibilities
- Review project submissions including specifications, drawings, test procedures, and method statements to ensure compliance with project requirements and guide the project team on necessary follow‑ups
- Supervise on‑site installation, testing, commissioning, integration testing, and defect resolution to ensure quality standards align with project specifications
- Coordinate with project teams, contractors, interfacing contractors, and stakeholders to resolve site issues and clashes, ensuring seamless project execution
- Facilitate monitoring and updating of project schedules, reviewing progress reports to ensure adherence to project timelines
- Lead participation in project‑related, coordination, and interfacing meetings to maintain alignment and track project delivery status
- Support the project team in managing project‑related tasks to ensure timely delivery and achievement of project milestones
- Apply analytical and problem‑solving skills to identify and address project challenges proactively
- Communicate effectively in English with team members and stakeholders to foster collaboration and clarity
- Manage flexible working hours including night shifts and engineering hours to meet project demands
- Travel regularly between office and project sites to oversee project activities and maintain operational oversight
Required competencies and certifications
- Recognised diploma or degree in Engineering (electronics or mechanical) or related discipline
- At least 3 years of project coordination experience in site installation, testing, and commissioning of rail E&M systems within Singapore’s transit environment
- Experience coordinating and interfacing with local transit stakeholders such as railway/transit operators for A&A, system upgrades, or new system implementations at revenue stations
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, AutoCAD, BIM, or similar drawing tools for design drawing review
- Ability to work independently with high motivation and proactiveness
Preferred competencies and qualifications
- Experience in Automatic Fare Collection System upgrades, relocations, and system migration projects in transit environments
