Your day-to-day
As the primary contact for servicing the computer hardware, you’ll manage and monitor all computer hardware and ensure systems are installed properly and working efficiently. Keep up to date with all approved systems and technology including:
Maintain an up-to-date list of all computer hardware, software, and AV equipment at the hotel (Inventory). Monitor the performance of the systems and maintain a logbook of performance. Understand all standards and customized features and functions of PMS and POS systems. Ensure that all computer media saves, and backups are completed, documented, and stored per specifications.
Maintain uncompromising data and physical security standards. Control security for the server room and ensure fire protection, temperature control, and power requirements meet the security specifications. Administer all user IDs, passwords, and sensitive system utilities under the supervision of the IT Director/Leader.
Maintain technical and user documentation, systems reports, detailed records of IT/AV equipment, network configurations, and technical issues or resolutions in a neat, orderly, and secure fashion. Follow up on outstanding points from the latest IT audit of the hotel under the supervision of the IT Director/Leader.
Train employees to enable them to take responsibility during the absence of IT/AV colleagues. Ensure all hotel routine maintenance for IT & AV equipment complies with policies and standards. Ensure all hotel policies and information security standards are met.
Investigate and report system issues to vendors or support centers. Ensure viable solutions are adopted for hotel disaster recovery and business continuity plans. Recommend suitable Software/Hardware vendors for hotel IT purchases.
Collaborate with other departments to ensure all IT-related items meet audit requirements. Ensure all hotel IT systems are under appropriate maintenance contracts, with routine health checks and repair schedules. Evaluate and assess the lifecycle of all technology solutions and assets, providing advice on hardware/software refreshes.
Ensure all settings are properly configured on computing and AV systems. Take preventive measures to foresee, identify, and analyze potential system performance issues. Keep cabling, network diagrams, and SOPs up-to-date.
Lead or participate in IT projects such as system upgrades, new software implementations, or network expansions. Setup, operate, and maintain AV equipment for events, conferences, and meetings, including projectors, sound systems, microphones, and video conferencing tools. Provide technical support during live events, troubleshooting sound, video, or lighting issues.
Ensure all AV equipment is in good working condition through regular maintenance, testing, and cleaning.
Accountabilities
This job performs professional accounting duties for a large full-service hotel or a cluster of hotels. This is a middle-level professional position in hotel accounting.
