Job summary

AtkinsRéalis in Riyadh seeks an experienced Senior Resident Engineer to lead on-site supervision for a major development project. You will coordinate civil, structural, architectural, MEP, and landscape teams, review submittals, track progress and ensure quality and safety compliance. English fluency is required; Arabic is a plus.

The role demands extensive experience with large-scale buildings, strong leadership, and effective stakeholder engagement to deliver through testing and handover.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Engineering, or related discipline.
• Master's Degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or Project Management is desirable.
• Professional Engineer (PE) or Chartered Engineer preferred.
• Minimum 15+ years in construction and site supervision.
• Minimum 8 years as a Resident Engineer on large-scale buildings.
• Experience supervising major developments (conventions centers, hotels, resorts, etc.).
• Knowledge of international construction standards and quality management.
• Experience administering FIDIC-based contracts.
• Strong leadership and stakeholder management skills.
• Fluency in English; Arabic advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Act as the Consultant's site representative and lead construction supervision activities.
• Oversee daily site operations and ensure compliance with drawings, specs and regulations.
• Lead multidisciplinary teams (civil, structural, architectural, MEP, landscape).
• Review contractor submissions (method statements, shop drawings, submittals).
• Monitor progress and ensure alignment with project schedules and milestones.
• Identify risks and implement corrective actions with stakeholders.
• Lead progress meetings and technical review workshops.
• Oversee testing, commissioning, and handover activities.
• Manage RFIs, variations, claims and extensions of time.
• Ensure HSSE compliance and proper implementation of QA/QC.
