The role connects engineering releases, procurement commitments, construction sequencing, commissioning, testing, and handover into a single integrated planning framework. Through accurate progress measurement, critical path analysis, forecasting, and early identification of delay risks, the planner will help management protect completion dates and make timely recovery decisions.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and maintain detailed Level 3 and Level 4 project schedules in accordance with approved project requirements.
  • Establish Work Breakdown Structures, activity coding, calendars, logic relationships, milestones, and scheduling methodologies.
  • Prepare baseline schedules aligned with approved scope, execution strategies, contractual requirements, and key completion dates.
  • Integrate Engineering, Procurement, Construction, Commissioning, testing, and Handover activities into coordinated master schedules.
  • Develop detailed construction schedules covering civil, structural, MEP, infrastructure, utilities, airfield, and specialist works.
  • Review Contractor and Subcontractor schedules and verify alignment with approved project baselines and interface requirements.
  • Analyze schedule logic, sequencing, constraints, float, interfaces, critical path, and near-critical activities.
  • Update schedules using verified progress, approved changes, revised forecasts, and current site information.
  • Collect progress data from Engineering, Procurement, Construction, Commissioning, and supporting project functions.
  • Validate reported progress against physical site status, approved documentation, quantities, inspections, and other supporting evidence.
  • Compare actual performance against baseline and identify schedule deviations, emerging slippage, and critical constraints.
  • Develop recovery schedules, acceleration scenarios, and mitigation plans for delayed activities.
  • Provide early warning of schedule risks and recommend corrective actions before delays affect contractual milestones.
  • Monitor interfaces between design disciplines, procurement packages, construction activities, specialist systems, and commissioning sequences.
  • Track contractual milestones, access dates, design approvals, authority approvals, handover requirements, and key project dependencies.
  • Monitor long-lead equipment and material procurement activities and assess their impact on construction and completion dates.
  • Coordinate with Procurement teams to track manufacturing, shipment, delivery, and required-on-site dates.
  • Integrate engineering deliverables, design reviews, approvals, and release dates into project schedules.
  • Monitor construction productivity and compare achieved production rates against planned assumptions.
  • Establish activity weightings and progress measurement rules where required.
  • Develop and maintain S-curves, progress curves, manpower histograms, dashboards, and schedule performance reports.
  • Prepare weekly and monthly schedule updates, planning reports, lookahead schedules, and management presentations.
  • Perform schedule variance analysis and identify root causes affecting progress.
  • Conduct Time Impact Analysis, delay assessments, and schedule impact evaluations for changes and emerging events.
  • Support Extension of Time assessments and claims by providing accurate planning records, chronology, and schedule analysis.
  • Coordinate with Commercial and Contracts teams on variations, claims, delay events, and time-related contractual matters.
  • Assess schedule impacts arising from design changes, RFIs, technical issues, stakeholder requirements, and scope revisions.
  • Maintain schedule risk registers and support qualitative and quantitative schedule risk assessments.
  • Participate in planning and schedule risk workshops and develop practical mitigation strategies.
  • Forecast key completion dates, interim milestones, sectional handovers, and operational readiness dates.
  • Maintain accurate baselines, schedule updates, narratives, progress records, assumptions, and supporting documentation.
  • Develop and monitor schedules for airport terminals, runways, taxiways, aprons, roads, utilities, drainage, and external infrastructure.
  • Coordinate complex interfaces between airside and landside construction activities.
  • Incorporate operational restrictions, airport access controls, permits, shutdowns, temporary works, and phased construction into schedules.
  • Develop detailed schedules for earthworks, pavement, utilities, drainage, roads, and major civil infrastructure packages.
  • Track authority approvals and design release dates affecting airport and airfield construction.
  • Integrate testing, commissioning, integrated systems testing, training, documentation, operational readiness, and Taking-Over activities.
  • Monitor planned versus actual manpower, equipment usage, productivity, and production rates.
  • Prepare detailed schedule narratives explaining major variances, risks, constraints, and required recovery measures.
  • Present planning performance, critical path status, milestone forecasts, and recovery strategies during project review meetings.
Ideal Profile

Ideal Profile A Bachelor 's Degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Project Management, or a related discipline is required, supported by at least 10 years of relevant planning and scheduling experience. Candidates should have substantial experience developing and managing complex integrated schedules for major construction, infrastructure, airport, or multidisciplinary projects. Strong exposure to Engineering, Procurement, Construction, Commissioning, and Handover planning is essential. Advanced proficiency in Primavera P6 is required, together with strong practical experience in critical path analysis, progress measurement, schedule control, forecasting, productivity monitoring, and delay analysis. Experience conducting Time Impact Analysis and supporting Extension of Time assessments is highly desirable. Candidates should also understand construction sequencing, resource requirements, change management, schedule risk, and contractual planning obligations.
