Key Responsibilities
- Lead development, implementation, and maintenance of comprehensive project schedules for complex design and construction activities.
- Produce logically structured and resource-loaded programs that incorporate dependencies across disciplines, packages, contractors, and project areas.
- Develop baseline, target, recovery, and updated schedules in accordance with approved planning procedures.
- Ensure scheduling activities comply with the Schedule Management Plan and established project controls processes.
- Monitor consultant and contractor progress against approved programs and identify emerging schedule deviations.
- Review contractor and consultant schedules for logic, sequencing, durations, interfaces, resources, milestones, and contractual requirements.
- Analyse schedule performance and identify trends requiring management intervention.
- Monitor critical path activities and evaluate their impact on overall project completion.
- Recommend corrective actions and practical mitigation measures when delays or performance issues arise.
- Coordinate with project teams to ensure agreed recovery measures are implemented and reflected in updated schedules.
- Perform weekly and monthly schedule updates as design, procurement, and construction activities progress.
- Review project progress tracking and reporting information before formal submission.
- Ensure schedule information remains accurate, consistent, traceable, and supported by appropriate documentation.
- Preserve planning records and backup documentation in coordination with information management teams.
Planning leadership will extend beyond schedule preparation into broader project controls coordination.
- Provide guidance to planning teams on scheduling, resources, cost interfaces, and risk considerations.
- Support resource planning by determining required workforce and resource levels across project stages.
- Integrate engineering, procurement, and construction requirements into coordinated work sequences.
- Identify interdisciplinary dependencies and establish logical relationships between project activities.
- Coordinate with performing organisations to align individual work packages with the total project program.
- Review schedule data prepared for proposals, commercial discussions, and contract negotiations.
- Work closely with the commercial function to strengthen integrated controls covering budgets, costs, risks, changes, and reporting.
- Support alignment between project schedules and commercial or contractual requirements.
- Participate in strategic planning exercises with project leadership and multidisciplinary stakeholders.
- Provide planning inputs for the establishment and improvement of processes and procedures.
- Evaluate schedule trends, slippage, float erosion, milestone movement, and potential critical path changes.
- Identify schedule risks and develop realistic mitigation plans with project teams.
- Evaluate contractor delay exposure and elevate significant concerns to management.
- Analyse the effect of design decisions, procurement activity, interfaces, and resource availability on project timelines.
- Identify opportunities to improve sequencing and accelerate delivery where technically achievable.
- Support management in assessing alternative delivery scenarios and recovery strategies.
- Ensure schedule reporting clearly communicates key constraints, priorities, and required actions.
The Planning Manager will also lead coordination and team performance.
- Manage, coach, and mentor junior planning professionals to strengthen technical capability and delivery quality.
- Allocate planning activities effectively and monitor completion against required deadlines.
- Promote knowledge sharing across the planning team and relevant internal stakeholders.
- Respond accurately and promptly to questions relating to schedule submissions, assumptions, and progress.
- Encourage collaboration between planning, design, construction, commercial, project controls, and other delivery teams.
- Identify critical project interfaces and manage coordination to prevent avoidable delays.
- Maintain effective communication with consultants and contractors regarding planning expectations and corrective actions.
- Continuously improve the quality of schedules, reports, presentations, and planning documentation.
- Seek opportunities to improve planning services provided to individual project teams.

Ideal Profile
- Bachelor 's degree in Engineering, Architecture, Construction Management, Business Management, or a relevant discipline.
- Master 's degree is preferred.
- Minimum 10 years of relevant planning and scheduling experience.
- Demonstrated experience working on mega or large-scale complex design and construction programs.
- Background in private or government sector developments involving high-value, luxury, royal, or VIP projects is highly desirable.
- Strong understanding of engineering, procurement, and construction processes.
- Advanced knowledge of construction methods, project sequencing, resource planning, and schedule development.
- Familiarity with luxury construction requirements and specialist material considerations is advantageous.
- Proven ability to review and challenge contractor and consultant schedules.
- Strong understanding of critical path analysis, schedule recovery, progress measurement, and delay mitigation.
- Experience managing and developing planning teams.
- Ability to coordinate schedules across multiple project disciplines and external organisations.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving capability.
- Able to manage competing priorities and demanding reporting deadlines.
- Excellent written and verbal English communication skills.
- Confident working with senior stakeholders and multidisciplinary project teams.
- Primavera certification is desirable.
- Recognised project management certification such as PMP or PRINCE2 is advantageous.
