The Roads Coordinator will manage the interface between road construction activities and dry utility infrastructure across airport, airfield, transportation, and external development areas. The role will focus on ensuring that underground services are installed, inspected, tested, surveyed, and protected before subgrade, sub-base, base course, and pavement activities proceed. Effective performance requires continuous coordination between Roads, Dry Utilities, Survey, BIM, GIS, QA/QC, Planning, Engineering, contractors, and other disciplines. The coordinator will track incomplete utility works, identify conflicts early, and maintain clear visibility of activities that could delay road construction or affect final pavement levels and infrastructure handover.
The role requires a bachelor 's degree in Civil Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Infrastructure Engineering, or another related discipline together with at least five years of relevant experience in roads, infrastructure, dry utilities, or multidisciplinary construction projects. Candidates should have practical experience coordinating electrical duct banks, telecom infrastructure, ICT and ELV networks, fiber optic systems, street lighting, chambers, manholes, conduits, sleeves, and underground utility crossings with road construction. A strong understanding of road sequencing is essential, particularly the relationship between dry utility completion and subgrade, sub-base, base course, kerbs, pavement, and final surface works. The successful candidate should be comfortable interpreting road profiles, cross-sections, utility layouts, construction drawings, and multidisciplinary design information and identifying conflicts before they affect site progress. Experience working with contractors, consultants, QA/QC teams, Survey personnel, BIM and GIS specialists, Planning teams, and engineers is important. Previous involvement with airports, airfields, transportation programs, major infrastructure projects, or large-scale urban developments will be advantageous. The role requires strong coordination, reporting, problem-solving, and organizational skills together with the ability to track multiple utility interfaces and construction priorities simultaneously.
