Position Overview Roads Coordinator - Airport Infrastructure in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia is a Civil Engineering opportunity focused on coordinating road construction, pavement works, utilities, drainage, surveying, traffic systems, and multidisciplinary interfaces across a major airport and airfield development. Parsons is hiring a Saudi National civil engineering professional to support roadwork planning, sequencing, technical coordination, inspections, quality control, and progress monitoring across landside, airside, service road, access road, parking, and external infrastructure packages.

Key Responsibilities
  • Coordinate roadworks across Engineering, Construction, Planning, Utilities, Drainage, Survey, QA/QC, HSE, and contractor teams.
  • Review road design drawings, profiles, cross-sections, details, specifications, and construction requirements.
  • Coordinate design interfaces between roads, utilities, drainage, structures, pavements, street lighting, landscaping, traffic systems, and other infrastructure.
  • Monitor road construction against approved drawings, specifications, Method Statements, and project requirements.
  • Coordinate sequencing for earthworks, grading, subgrade, capping, sub-base, base course, asphalt, kerbs, footpaths, and hardstanding.
  • Work with Survey teams to verify road alignments, elevations, gradients, profiles, tie-ins, and geometry.
  • Monitor construction progress and coordinate with Planning teams against the approved project schedule.
  • Support weekly lookahead planning with contractors and project controls personnel.
  • Identify site constraints, access limitations, design gaps, interface conflicts, and risks that may delay roadwork activities.
  • Coordinate responses to RFIs, Technical Queries, design clarifications, and field engineering issues.
  • Ensure outstanding technical information is tracked and resolved before it affects active work fronts.
  • Coordinate with Utilities teams to confirm underground services are installed, tested, protected, and cleared before pavement construction.
  • Manage road interfaces with utility corridors, duct crossings, drainage structures, chambers, and existing infrastructure.
  • Coordinate utility crossings to minimize conflicts with pavement layers and road construction sequencing.
  • Review contractor roadwork Method Statements and construction proposals for coordination requirements.
  • Support technical assessment of proposed road construction methodologies and work sequencing.
  • Coordinate with QA/QC teams on inspections, testing, and required approval points.
  • Monitor testing of fill, subgrade, compaction, aggregates, sub-base, base course, and asphalt.
  • Track material approvals and coordinate availability of approved road construction materials.
  • Support resolution of unsuitable material, soft spots, settlement, compaction failure, pavement defects, and other quality concerns.
  • Coordinate implementation of approved design revisions and ensure construction teams receive current information.
  • Maintain roadwork interface registers, coordination trackers, action logs, and technical records.
  • Participate in site inspections, technical meetings, coordination sessions, and progress reviews.
  • Work with contractors and subcontractors to ensure roadwork fronts are appropriately prepared and sequenced.
  • Coordinate permanent road construction with temporary access roads and construction logistics arrangements.
  • Monitor tie-ins between new road infrastructure and existing road networks.
  • Coordinate drainage interfaces including gullies, channels, culverts, crossings, and stormwater systems.
  • Support installation coordination for kerbs, edging, footpaths, and associated hardscape elements.
  • Coordinate road markings, traffic signs, barriers, road furniture, and related finishing works.
  • Manage road interfaces with street lighting foundations, ducts, cabling routes, and lighting equipment.
  • Coordinate traffic system interfaces where road construction affects signals, signs, barriers, or control infrastructure.
  • Support planning and coordination of access roads serving major construction compounds and work areas.
  • Assist with roadwork activities associated with airport terminals, parking areas, service zones, and landside facilities.
  • Coordinate airside roads and interfaces with taxiways, aprons, gates, and operational zones.
  • Ensure construction planning recognizes airport access controls, restricted areas, and operational requirements.
  • Support phased road construction in areas where permanent and temporary access must remain available.
  • Coordinate construction activities around existing roads, live utilities, security systems, and airport infrastructure.
  • Track design submissions, approvals, materials, inspections, and unresolved construction constraints.
  • Provide regular updates to Construction and Project Management teams on roadwork status and interface risks.
  • Support preparation of weekly and monthly progress reports.
  • Maintain records of road coordination meetings, decisions, technical queries, and agreed actions.
  • Support roadwork punch-list inspections and monitor corrective works through closure.
  • Coordinate final testing, documentation, as-built information, and handover requirements for completed road assets.
Ideal Profile

The position requires a bachelor 's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Engineering, or another relevant discipline. Candidates should have at least five years of experience in road construction, infrastructure, civil works, or roadwork coordination. A sound understanding of earthworks, pavement construction, drainage, road geometry, utilities, and construction sequencing is required. The successful candidate should be comfortable reading road plans, longitudinal profiles, cross-sections, pavement details, specifications, and field construction information. Experience coordinating multidisciplinary road interfaces is important, particularly where utilities, drainage, lighting, traffic systems, structures, and landscaping must be completed in a controlled sequence. Candidates should understand roadwork inspection and testing requirements for fill, compaction, subgrade, aggregate, pavement layers, and asphalt. Previous experience on airport, airfield, transportation, major infrastructure, or large-scale development projects will strengthen suitability. The role requires practical coordination with contractors, consultants, Client representatives, surveyors, planners, inspectors, and multidisciplinary engineering teams. Knowledge of road and pavement standards, construction quality requirements, project schedules, and site reporting processes is expected. Proficiency in MS Office and relevant engineering or project management systems is required together with strong communication, coordination, and problem-solving skills.
