Job summary

Jumeirah Jabal Omar Makkah invites applications for a Resident Engineer. Based in Makkah, you will lead the Engineering Department, supervise teams, and ensure the highest maintenance standards across building services, MEP systems, and safety compliance.

You will coordinate with hotel departments and external contractors to deliver timely, safe operations. Ideal candidates hold a Bachelor’s degree in engineering, 5–7 years in luxury hotel environments, and a health and safety certification,

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in mechanical, electrical, HVAC, or related engineering discipline.
5-7 years of relevant experience in engineering, preferably in luxury hotel environments.
Experience with building maintenance, MEP systems, preventive maintenance, and engineering operations.
Health and safety certification.

Responsibilities

Supervise daily activities of Engineering Department supervisors and subordinates.
Ensure property/assets are maintained per JEMS standards and safety requirements.
Monitor repairs to ensure standards are met and coordinate with departments for timely actions.
Oversee JEMS, Fire, Life and Safety Matrix, PPM, and Work Order systems implementation.
Inspect property and systems to identify maintenance needs and corrective actions.
Coordinate with hotel departments to address engineering requests efficiently.
Monitor contractors and external providers for compliance with standards.
Communicate engineering updates to internal and external stakeholders.

About the Job

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Resident Engineer to join Jumeirah Jabal Omar Makkah.

The main duties and responsibilities of this role include:

Supervise and manage the daily activities of the Engineering Department supervisors and subordinates.
Ensure that the property and assets are maintained in the highest order through the effective management of the Jumeirah Engineering Management System.
Monitor completed repair and maintenance works to ensure that established standards have been met.
Assist in the implementation, coordination, and monitoring of the JEMS (Jumeirah Engineering Management System), including the Fire, Life and Safety Matrix, PPM, and Work Order Systems.
Conduct regular inspections of the property and engineering systems to identify maintenance requirements and ensure appropriate corrective actions are taken.
Coordinate with relevant hotel departments to ensure engineering requests and operational requirements are addressed in a timely and effective manner.
Monitor the performance of contractors, suppliers, and external service providers to ensure compliance with required standards.
Communicate engineering and project updates to internal departments and external entities in a professional and timely manner.
Ensure compliance with all relevant Engineering Department policies, processes, procedures, and health and safety requirements.

About You

The ideal candidate for this position will have the following experience and qualifications:

Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical, Electrical, HVAC, or a related Engineering discipline
5 - 7 years of relevant experience in Engineering, preferably within a luxury hotel environment
Experience in building maintenance, MEP systems, preventive maintenance, and engineering operations
Health and Safety certification
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to supervise and coordinate Engineering teams and external contractors
Proficiency in English
