Job summary

Jumeirah Jabal Omar Makkah is actively seeking a Resident Engineer to lead the Engineering Department, oversee daily supervision, and ensure premier maintenance across the property. The role focuses on implementing JEMS, monitoring safety and quality standards, and coordinating with other hotel departments.

The ideal candidate will have a Mechanical, Electrical, or related engineering background, with 5–7 years in luxury hospitality, strong English proficiency, and a proven ability to manage

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical, Electrical, HVAC, or related Engineering required.
• 5–7 years of relevant Engineering experience, preferably in a luxury hotel.
• Experience in building maintenance, MEP systems, preventive maintenance, and engineering operations.
• Health and Safety certification.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to supervise and coordinate Engineering teams and external contractors.
• Proficiency in English.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and manage the daily activities of the Engineering Department supervisors and subordinates.
• Ensure property and assets are maintained to the highest standards through the Jumeirah Engineering Management System (JEMS).
• Monitor completed repair and maintenance works to ensure standards are met.
• Assist in implementing, coordinating, and monitoring JEMS—Fire, Life & Safety Matrix, PPM, and Work Order Systems.
• Conduct regular inspections of the property and engineering systems to identify maintenance needs and ensure corrective actions.
• Coordinate with hotel departments to address engineering requests and operational requirements in a timely manner.
• Monitor performance of contractors, suppliers, and external service providers for compliance with standards.
• Communicate engineering and project updates to internal departments and external entities professionally and timely.
• Ensure compliance with Engineering Department policies, processes, procedures, and health and safety requirements.
