Jumeirah Jabal Omar Makkah is actively seeking a Resident Engineer to lead the Engineering Department, oversee daily supervision, and ensure premier maintenance across the property. The role focuses on implementing JEMS, monitoring safety and quality standards, and coordinating with other hotel departments.

The ideal candidate will have a Mechanical, Electrical, or related engineering background, with 5–7 years in luxury hospitality, strong English proficiency, and a proven ability to manage

Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical, Electrical, HVAC, or related Engineering required.
5–7 years of relevant Engineering experience, preferably in a luxury hotel.
Experience in building maintenance, MEP systems, preventive maintenance, and engineering operations.
Health and Safety certification.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to supervise and coordinate Engineering teams and external contractors.
Proficiency in English.

Responsabilidades

Supervise and manage the daily activities of the Engineering Department supervisors and subordinates.
Ensure property and assets are maintained to the highest standards through the Jumeirah Engineering Management System (JEMS).
Monitor completed repair and maintenance works to ensure standards are met.
Assist in implementing, coordinating, and monitoring JEMS—Fire, Life & Safety Matrix, PPM, and Work Order Systems.
Conduct regular inspections of the property and engineering systems to identify maintenance needs and ensure corrective actions.
Coordinate with hotel departments to address engineering requests and operational requirements in a timely manner.
Monitor performance of contractors, suppliers, and external service providers for compliance with standards.
Communicate engineering and project updates to internal departments and external entities professionally and timely.
Ensure compliance with Engineering Department policies, processes, procedures, and health and safety requirements.

About the Job

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Resident Engineer to join Jumeirah Jabal Omar Makkah.

The main duties and responsibilities of this role include:

Supervise and manage the daily activities of the Engineering Department supervisors and subordinates.
Ensure that the property and assets are maintained in the highest order through the effective management of the Jumeirah Engineering Management System.
Monitor completed repair and maintenance works to ensure that established standards have been met.
Assist in the implementation, coordination, and monitoring of the JEMS (Jumeirah Engineering Management System), including the Fire, Life and Safety Matrix, PPM, and Work Order Systems.
Conduct regular inspections of the property and engineering systems to identify maintenance requirements and ensure appropriate corrective actions are taken.
Coordinate with relevant hotel departments to ensure engineering requests and operational requirements are addressed in a timely and effective manner.
Monitor the performance of contractors, suppliers, and external service providers to ensure compliance with required standards.
Communicate engineering and project updates to internal departments and external entities in a professional and timely manner.
Ensure compliance with all relevant Engineering Department policies, processes, procedures, and health and safety requirements.

About You

The ideal candidate for this position will have the following experience and qualifications:

Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical, Electrical, HVAC, or a related Engineering discipline
5 - 7 years of relevant experience in Engineering, preferably within a luxury hotel environment
Experience in building maintenance, MEP systems, preventive maintenance, and engineering operations
Health and Safety certification
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to supervise and coordinate Engineering teams and external contractors
Proficiency in English
