Job summary

Middle East Mattress Factory Co. in Jeddah is seeking a Production Engineer to optimize daily mattress manufacturing processes and act as the technical backbone on the shop floor.

You will focus on maximizing machine uptime, implementing lean practices, reducing material scrap, and ensuring assembly lines run flawlessly across quilting, foam cutting, and final inspection stages. Proficiency with Odoo ERP and strong English communication are required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Industrial, Mechanical, or Production preferred).
• Exactly 5 years of direct experience in mattress manufacturing or similar bedding production.
• Proficient with Odoo ERP or similar manufacturing software modules; English fluency required; Arabic/Hindi/Urdu helpful.

Responsibilities

• Supervise daily mattress production workflows and optimize processes.
• Maintain BOMs and routing in Odoo ERP; ensure data integrity.
• Apply lean principles to improve OEE and reduce waste.
• Coordinate with maintenance for machinery troubleshooting to minimize downtime.
• Ensure quality control on foam, fiber, and springs before packaging.
• Lead shift tasks and coordinate technicians and line operators.

Operating from our advanced production plant in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, we manufacture world-class sleep systems utilizing cutting-edge automated machinery and industry-leading comfort technologies.

Position Purpose

We are seeking a detail-oriented and technically skilled Production Engineer to optimize and supervise our daily mattress manufacturing processes in Jeddah. In this role, you will be the technical backbone of the shop floor, bridging the gap between design specifications and physical production. You will focus on maximizing machine uptime, implementing lean practices, reducing material scrap, and ensuring that our assembly lines run flawlessly.

Key Responsibilities

• Process Supervision & Optimization: Supervise daily mattress manufacturing workflows—including quilting, quilting patterns, pocket spring production, foam cutting, tape-edging, and final inspection lines.
• ERP Data Integrity & BOM Management: Maintain and verify complex Bills of Materials (BOM) and routing protocols within the Odoo ERP system. Route shop floor data accurately and audit material variances to prevent discrepancies.
• Continuous Improvement & Lean Manufacturing: Identify bottlenecks on the assembly lines. Apply time-and-motion studies and lean manufacturing principles to improve Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE) and eliminate raw material waste.
• Equipment Coordination & Troubleshooting: Work hand-in-hand with the maintenance team to oversee specialized automated mattress machinery (e.g., automated sewing, pocket-coil, and tape-edge machines). Troubleshoot process deviations immediately to minimize downtime.
• Quality & Standards Compliance: Monitor shop floor quality control practices. Ensure that foam, fiber, and spring components meet technical blueprints and premium brand standards before moving to packaging.
• Shift & Worker Coordination: Instruct, assign daily tasks to, and monitor technicians and line operators to ensure shift targets are safely and efficiently achieved.

Job Requirements & Qualifications

• Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering (Industrial, Mechanical, or Production Engineering preferred).
• Experience: Exactly 5 years of direct experience in mattress manufacturing or highly specialized bedding/textile production plants.
• Software & Technical Skills: High proficiency in engineering concepts and hands-on experience with Odoo ERP (or similar manufacturing software modules).
• Language Skills: Professional fluency in spoken and written English is required. Working knowledge of Arabic or Hindi/Urdu is highly valued for daily team communication.
