Job summary

Context

We are seeking a Planner / Scheduler to join the Project Management Consultant (PMC) team for a major metro project in Riyadh. The Planner / Scheduler will support in developing, reviewing, monitoring, and updating project schedules to ensure that planning and progress control activities are carried out effectively and in line with project objectives, contract requirements, and reporting standards.

The role will support the PMC team in tracking project performance, analyzing progress, identifying delays and risks, and providing schedule-related insights to support informed decision-making. The successful candidate will work closely with project managers, engineers, contractors, and stakeholders to ensure that planning and scheduling activities are properly coordinated across the project.

Missions/Main Duties

• Review, analyze, and monitor contractor baseline schedules, updated schedules, recovery plans, and look-ahead programs
• Verify compliance of schedules with contract requirements, project milestones, phasing, and approved execution plans
• Monitor actual progress against the approved baseline schedule and identify delays, slippages, and critical issues
• Analyze critical path, schedule logic, float, constraints, and sequencing of activities
• Prepare planning reports, progress reports, dashboards, and schedule summaries for PMC and client review
• Participate in progress meetings and provide schedule-related input and recommendations
• Coordinate with engineering, construction, commercial, and project management teams to obtain progress data and planning inputs
• Support evaluation of delay events, mitigation plans, recovery measures, and extension of time assessments
• Ensure that schedule updates are properly documented and supported by project records
• Use Primavera P6 for schedule review, updating, tracking, and reporting
• Assist in identifying project risks and planning-related concerns that may affect delivery milestones
• Maintain organized planning and progress control documentation throughout the project lifecycle

Profile/Skills

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field from a recognized institution
• Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in project planning and scheduling for major construction or infrastructure projects
• Experience in metro, rail, transportation, or major infrastructure projects is strongly preferred
• Experience working with a PMC, supervision consultant, engineering consultancy, or major contractor on large-scale projects is highly desirable
• Strong proficiency in Primavera P6
• Good understanding of planning principles, schedule development, progress measurement, critical path analysis, and delay analysis
• Previous experience in Riyadh or within Saudi Arabia is preferred
• Ability to review and interpret project schedules, construction sequences, progress data, and contract milestones
• Strong analytical, reporting, and coordination skills
• Good communication skills in English; Arabic is an advantage
• Proficiency in standard reporting tools such as Excel and PowerPoint is preferred
