Job summary

Hatch in Jubail, Saudi Arabia, seeks a Translator/Interpreter to provide high-quality English–Mandarin translation and interpretation supporting Hatch × Ma'aden Partnership across engineering, project delivery, and operations.

The successful candidate will have a bachelor’s in a related field, professional translation and interpreting skills, and at least three years’ experience in engineering or industrial environments, with strong MS Office proficiency and meticulous attention to detail.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree and professional translation/interpreting experience.
• Professional-level written translation and oral interpretation in English and Mandarin.
• Minimum 3 years’ translation/interpretation in corporate, engineering, or industrial environments.
• Experience translating engineering, technical, and project delivery docs with industry terminology.

Responsibilities

• Translate technical documents, reports, specifications, and project documentation between English and Mandarin.
• Provide consecutive and simultaneous interpretation during meetings, workshops, and site visits.
• Support project teams by translating technical info and coordinating cross-cultural communications.

About the Role

The Translator / Interpreteris responsible forproviding high-quality translation and interpretation services to support technical, commercial, and business activities across the Hatch ×Ma'adenPartnership. The role ensuresaccuratecommunication between English and Mandarin-speaking stakeholders, enabling collaboration across engineering, project delivery, operations, procurement, and leadership teams.

The successful candidate willpossessstrong language skills, technical understanding of the mining and metals industry, and the ability to work in a fast-paced project environment whilemaintainingaccuracy, confidentiality, and professionalism.

Responsibilities:

Translation Services

Translate technical documents, engineering reports, specifications, procedures, correspondence, presentations, and project documentation between English and Mandarin.

Review translated materials to ensure linguistic accuracy, consistency, andappropriate industryterminology.

Maintain translation records, terminology databases, and reference materials to support consistency across projects.

Assistin the preparation and localization of business communications, training materials, and stakeholder engagement documents.

Interpretation Services:

Provide consecutive and/or simultaneous interpretation during meetings, workshops, presentations, negotiations, and site visits.

Facilitate communication between project teams, management, clients, contractors, and external stakeholders.

Support cross-cultural communication and help ensure effective understanding between parties.

Project&Business Support:

Assistproject teams by translating technical information and conducting basic research whenrequired.

Support the coordination of communications between international and local stakeholders.

Prepare summaries and translated meeting notes to support project decision-making.

Ensure confidentiality of sensitive commercial, operational, and project information.

Work closely with engineering, project management, procurement, and operational teams to support businessobjectives.

Contribute to the development and continuous improvement of translation standards, templates, and processes.

Stay informed of industry-specific terminology, technical developments, and best practices within the mining and metals sector.

Requirements:

Bachelor's degree in English, Translation, Linguistics, Communications, or a related discipline.

Professional-level written translation and oral interpretation skills in bothEnglish and Mandarin Chinese.

Minimum of 3 years of relevant experience providing translation and interpretation services in a corporate, engineering, industrial, or project environment.

Demonstrated experience translating and interpreting engineering, technical, and project delivery documentation, with strong knowledge of engineering terminology and industry-specific language.

Proven ability to support engineering, construction, mining, metals, or industrial projects whereaccurateinterpretation of technical terminology is critical.

Experience within the mining, metals, engineering, construction, or industrial sectors.

Strong understanding of technical specifications, engineering reports, drawings, procedures, and project documentation.

Proficiencyin Microsoft Office applications including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.

Excellent attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.

Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.

Ability to manage multiple priorities and adapt to changing business needs.

Demonstrated ability to work effectively within a collaborative team environment.

Preferred:

Technical qualifications or experience in Engineering, Mining, Metallurgy, Construction, or related disciplines.

Experience supporting large-scale EPCM, mining, infrastructure, or industrial projects.

Familiarity with technical engineering drawings, specifications, contracts, and construction documentation.

Experience supporting multinational engineering organizations and cross-cultural project teams.

Office Location and Working hours:

Jubail, Chamber of Commerce Building, Al - Shati,Fanateer.

Sunday to Thursday 8:00 AM- 5:00 PM.
