Urbacon Saudi Company is recruiting a managing quantity surveyor in Saudi Arabia. The advert sets the post out as maximising the project margin and adding value through involvement in procurement, cost management and reporting, and driving best value from suppliers and subcontractors.

Monthly valuations of work in progress are carried out, including the forecast of final cost and sales, and project cash flow forecasts are prepared and monitored. Contract variations are measured, valued, submitted and negotiated. The surveyor advises project staff on commercial and contractual matters, which includes reviewing and drafting correspondence, and prepares, submits and negotiates the project final accounts.

Subcontract work runs through the post: commercial vetting of subcontractor tenders and contracts, and certification of their monthly valuations and final accounts. Business commercial processes are to be adhered to at project level. The surveyor assists on purchasing targets and costing budgets and produces formal reports to the business timetable.

The employer asks for accurate monthly forecasting and the ability to challenge resources and costs, technical writing in English, extensive experience of drafting contractual correspondence and facilitating collaborative solutions, and demonstrable legal, contractual and construction knowledge. SAP is required. A minimum of eight years of experience is sought, five of them relevant.
