Job summary

Urban Ridge Supplies is seeking an experienced Quantity Surveyor to lead cost planning, commercial control, and financial performance across construction projects. You will liaise with project teams, clients, subcontractors, and suppliers to ensure projects stay viable and within approved budgets.

Typical duties include preparing cost estimates, budgets and BOQs, monitoring expenditure, producing cost reports, evaluating quotations, negotiating terms, and managing variations, claims and payments

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Quantity Surveying, Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related field.
  • 10+ years of experience in quantity surveying within the construction industry.
  • Experience in Saudi Arabia or GCC preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of construction costs, contracts, estimation, and commercial practices.
  • Experience with variations, claims, subcontractor management, and cost reporting.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities.
  • Proficiency in MS Office and QS/commercial software.
  • Ability to work independently while collaborating with project teams.
  • Experience with precast or pre-stressed concrete projects is an advantage.

  • Monitor project expenditure against approved budgets and forecasts.
  • Prepare regular cost reports and commercial updates for project management.
  • Review and evaluate subcontractor and supplier quotations.
  • Negotiate rates, pricing, and commercial terms with subcontractors and suppliers.
  • Identify cost risks, variations, and opportunities for cost optimization.
  • Prepare, assess, and manage variation orders, claims, and payment applications.
  • Conduct site visits to monitor project progress and assess costs against actual work.
  • Review contracts, drawings, specifications, and project documentation.
  • Liaise with clients, consultants, subcontractors, and suppliers on commercial matters.
  • Maintain accurate records of project costs, contracts, variations, and claims.
  • Support project teams in maintaining cost efficiency throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Stay informed about construction market trends, material pricing, and industry developments.

Role Overview

Requirements

  • Experience withvariations, claims, subcontractor management, and cost reporting

  • Strong analytical, negotiation, and problem-solving skills

  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities
