Job summary

Urban Ridge Supplies in Saudi Arabia seeks an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor to lead cost control, estimation and commercial activities on major projects. You will prepare budgets, monitor spend, review bids, and negotiate terms with subcontractors while maintaining rigorous records.

Applicants should have 10+ years of QS experience, a relevant degree, GCC exposure preferred, and strong analytical and stakeholder skills to support project teams through the lifecycle.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Quantity Surveying, Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related field.
  • 10+ years of Quantity Surveying experience in construction.
  • Experience in Saudi Arabia or GCC preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of costs, contracts, estimation and commercial practices.
  • Experience with variations, claims, and cost reporting.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare cost estimates, budgets, BOQs and cost plans.
  • Monitor expenditure against budgets and forecasts.
  • Prepare cost reports and commercial updates for project management.
  • Review subcontractor and supplier quotations.
  • Negotiate rates, pricing and commercial terms with subcontractors and suppliers.
  • Identify cost risks, variations and opportunities for cost optimization.
  • Prepare, assess and manage variation orders, claims and payment applications.
  • Conduct site visits to monitor progress and costs against actual work.
  • Review contracts, drawings, specifications and project documentation.
  • Liaise with clients, consultants, subcontractors and suppliers on commercial matters.
  • Maintain accurate records of project costs, variations and claims.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare detailed cost estimates budgets BOQs and cost plans for construction projects
  • Monitor project expenditure against approved budgets and forecasts
  • Prepare regular cost reports and commercial updates for project management
  • Review and evaluate subcontractor and supplier quotations
  • Negotiate rates pricing and commercial terms with subcontractors and suppliers
  • Identify cost risks variations and opportunities for cost optimization
  • Prepare assess and manage variation orders claims and payment applications
  • Conduct site visits to monitor project progress and assess costs against actual work

Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Quantity Surveying, Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field
  • 10+ years of experience in quantity surveying within the construction industry
  • Previous experience in Saudi Arabia or the GCC is preferred
  • Strong knowledge of construction costs, contracts, estimation, and commercial practices
  • Experience with variations, claims, subcontractor management, and cost reporting
  • Strong analytical, negotiation, and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities
  • Proficiency in MS Office and relevant QS/commercial software
  • Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with project teams
  • Experience with precast or pre-stressed concrete projects is an advantage
