Job summary

UCC Holding is seeking a Logistics Officer to plan, coordinate, and oversee logistics for construction materials, heavy equipment, and tools to multiple project sites. The role requires collaboration with Procurement, Warehouse, Site Operations, and external providers to maintain project continuity and compliance with HSE standards.

The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor's degree in a related field, strong planning and ERP skills (SAP/Oracle), and 5+ years of logistics or materials management

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration or related field.
  • Professional certification in logistics or supply chain is an added advantage.

Responsibilities

  • Plan and coordinate transportation and delivery to project sites.
  • Monitor shipment schedules and ensure on-time deliveries.
  • Coordinate with Procurement, Warehouse, Site Engineers and Project Managers.
  • Liaise with suppliers, freight forwarders, customs brokers and transport companies.
  • Track local and international shipments and resolve issues.
  • Prepare shipping documents, delivery notes, customs docs and logistics reports.
  • Support import/export activities including customs clearance.
  • Coordinate mobilization/demobilization of equipment and assets.
  • Monitor logistics costs and identify optimization opportunities.
  • Ensure proper storage, handling and distribution per procedures and HSE.

Job description

The Logistics Officer is responsible for planning, coordinating, and overseeing all logistics activities to ensure the efficient and timely movement of construction materials, heavy equipment, tools, and supplies to project sites. The role plays a critical part in supporting uninterrupted project execution by coordinating with Procurement, Warehouse, Site Operations, and external logistics service providers while ensuring compliance with company policies, contractual requirements, and HSE standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan and coordinate the transportation and delivery of construction materials, equipment, tools, and machinery to project sites.
  • Monitor shipment schedules and ensure timely delivery in accordance with project requirements.
  • Coordinate with Procurement, Warehouse, Site Engineers, and Project Managers to ensure material availability and prevent project delays.
  • Liaise with suppliers, freight forwarders, customs brokers, transport companies, and other logistics partners to ensure smooth operations.
  • Track local and international shipments and proactively resolve logistics issues, delays, or discrepancies.
  • Prepare and maintain shipping documents, delivery notes, customs documentation, transport records, and logistics reports.
  • Support import and export activities, including customs clearance and compliance with applicable regulations.
  • Coordinate the mobilization and demobilization of construction equipment and project assets.
  • Monitor logistics costs and identify opportunities for cost optimization and operational efficiency.
  • Ensure proper storage, handling, and distribution of materials in accordance with company procedures and HSE requirements.
  • Maintain accurate inventory and logistics records using the company's ERP system.
  • Prepare periodic logistics performance reports and KPI dashboards.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, quality standards, and Health, Safety & Environment (HSE) procedures.
  • Perform other logistics-related duties as assigned by the Logistics Manager.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Engineering, or a related discipline.
  • Professional certification in Logistics or Supply Chain Management is an added advantage.

Experience

  • Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in logistics, supply chain, or materials management within the construction, EPC, infrastructure, or industrial sector.
  • Proven experience coordinating the movement of construction materials, heavy equipment, tools, and machinery to multiple project sites.
  • Hands-on experience with project logistics planning, site material coordination, and warehouse operations.
  • Strong knowledge of transportation regulations, import/export procedures, customs clearance, and freight forwarding.
  • Experience working with ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, or equivalent) for logistics and inventory management.
  • Previous experience supporting large-scale construction projects in the GCC/Middle East is highly desirable.
  • Strong knowledge of construction logistics and supply chain operations.
  • Excellent planning, coordination, and organizational skills.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management abilities.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel.
  • Experience using ERP systems such as SAP, Oracle, or equivalent.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced construction environment.
  • High attention to detail and accuracy in documentation.
  • Strong teamwork, integrity, and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
