Responsibilities

Role Context

The Interface Manager will oversee coordination between the many organizations and work packages involved in airport development. These interfaces may include terminals, airside facilities, landside infrastructure, utilities, baggage systems, security systems, aviation technology, roads, buildings, and operational stakeholders. Effective interface management is essential to prevent design conflicts, construction delays, duplicated scope, incomplete responsibilities, and disruption to airport operations. The role will create a structured framework for identifying dependencies, assigning ownership, tracking decisions, and escalating unresolved matters before they affect project delivery.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement the project interface management plan.
  • Establish interface governance procedures, reporting requirements, workflows, and escalation routes.
  • Identify and document interface points across airport facilities, infrastructure systems, work packages, and stakeholder organizations.
  • Maintain a comprehensive interface register covering technical, physical, operational, contractual, and programme dependencies.
  • Define interface ownership, responsibilities, target dates, required actions, and closure criteria.
  • Facilitate regular interface meetings, workshops, and coordination reviews.

  • Ensure that design and construction packages are integrated and compatible.
  • Monitor interface milestones against the approved project programme.
  • Highlight delayed decisions, incomplete information, and dependencies affecting critical activities.
  • Maintain accurate records of meetings, technical decisions, agreements, actions, and approvals.
  • Prepare interface matrices, control documents, decision logs, action trackers, and status reports.
  • Ensure interface documentation is current, traceable, accessible, and properly controlled.
  • Prepare regular reports and dashboards for senior management and project stakeholders.
  • Present current interface status, key risks, overdue actions, and required decisions.
  • Verify compliance with relevant aviation regulations, airport standards, contractual requirements, and project procedures.
  • Promote safety, quality, and regulatory compliance during all interface activities.
  • Coordinate with safety, quality, project controls, design, and construction teams.
  • Support the management of interface-related design changes and technical deviations.
  • Ensure approved changes are communicated and incorporated across all affected packages.
  • Identify opportunities to improve interface processes, reporting, coordination, and decision-making.
  • Apply lessons learned and recognized best practices from previous infrastructure and aviation projects.
  • Perform other responsibilities related to airport interface management and multidisciplinary project coordination.
Ideal Profile
  • Bachelor 's degree in engineering, project management, construction management, or a related discipline.
  • Minimum 15 years of project management or interface management experience.
  • Strong background supporting large-scale infrastructure or airport development projects.
  • Previous experience managing complex technical and organizational interfaces.
  • Aviation-sector experience is strongly preferred.
  • Good understanding of airport operations, development requirements, and regulatory obligations.
  • Experience coordinating consultants, contractors, airport authorities, operators, and government bodies.
  • Proven ability to identify and resolve cross-package design and construction conflicts.
  • Experience creating interface management plans, registers, matrices, and control documents.
  • Strong knowledge of multidisciplinary design and construction coordination.
