A missed connection between buildings, utilities, airfield systems, communications, security, or airport operations can create design conflicts, construction delays, additional cost, and commissioning failures. The Senior Interface Lead will provide a single governance structure for these dependencies. Clear ownership, disciplined tracking, and early resolution will help protect project milestones and ensure that landside, airside, and operational assets function as one integrated airport.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement the airport-program interface-management strategy.
  • Establish procedures, workflows, tools, reporting methods, and escalation routes.
  • Prepare and maintain the Interface Management Plan.
  • Define interface categories, responsibilities, deliverables, and closure requirements.
  • Lead interface engineers and guide project stakeholders in consistent working practices.
  • Ensure interfaces are identified, recorded, assigned, tracked, and formally closed.
  • Coordinate civil, structural, architectural, mechanical, and electrical interfaces.
  • Manage connections involving ICT, ELV, airfield systems, airfield ground lighting, utilities, security, and specialist airport technology.
  • Identify design conflicts, scope gaps, unclear responsibilities, and technical dependencies.
  • Facilitate workshops to resolve complex multidisciplinary interface matters.
  • Verify alignment of design solutions across disciplines and delivery packages.
  • Manage interfaces involving terminals, concourses, runways, taxiways, aircraft stands, aprons, and cargo facilities.
  • Coordinate roads, external infrastructure, utility networks, and airport operational systems.
  • Ensure effective integration between airside and landside assets.
  • Align buildings, infrastructure, technology, and operations in preparation for airport opening.
  • Act as the central interface contact for the client and airport operator.
  • Coordinate delivery partners, consultants, contractors, subcontractors, utility providers, suppliers, and authorities.
  • Establish effective communication and information-exchange channels.
  • Lead interface-coordination meetings and monitor resulting actions.
  • Develop and maintain interface registers, matrices, responsibility charts, and trackers.

  • Support BIM-based coordination and digital engineering workflows.
  • Review federated models and coordinate multidisciplinary clash detection.
  • Promote accurate interface information within common data environments and project information systems.
  • Lead interface-risk assessments and support constructability reviews.
  • Capture lessons learned and improve interface-management practices.
  • Prepare meeting records, action trackers, technical agreements, and formal reports.
  • Maintain auditable records of decisions, approvals, and interface closure evidence.
  • Support testing, commissioning, operational-readiness, and handover documentation.

Ideal Profile
  • Bachelor 's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Project Management, or a related discipline.
  • Master 's degree in Engineering Management or Project Management is advantageous.
  • Minimum 15 years of experience in interface management, engineering coordination, construction delivery, or project integration.
  • Proven involvement in major airport, aviation, transportation, or large-scale infrastructure programs.
  • Extensive experience managing multidisciplinary interfaces across design and construction.
  • Background within delivery-partner, project-management consultancy, EPC, or client-side organizations.
  • Demonstrated ability to coordinate multiple contractors, consultants, suppliers, and stakeholders.
  • Strong knowledge of interface-management principles, governance, and recognized practices.
  • Understanding of airport systems, facilities, infrastructure, and operational requirements.
  • Experience developing interface registers, matrices, dashboards, and tracking tools.
