Job summary

AESG is seeking a candidate for a commissioning-focused role within our multi-discipline project team. The position involves conducting site inspections, verifying test results, and developing knowledge of commissioning processes across building services disciplines.

The role supports senior personnel, liaises with contractors, and contributes to ensuring compliance with project specifications and industry codes of practice.

Qualifications

• MEP/building services engineering degree is required.
• BSc in Mechanical or Building Services Engineering.
• Diploma/certificate routes (HNC/HND, City & Guilds) accepted with experience.

Responsibilities

• Assist senior personnel in carrying out commissioning activities
• Develop knowledge in chosen discipline and how different systems interact in buildings
• Conduct site inspections in selected discipline
• Assess whether test procedures and recorded results demonstrate compliance with project specifications and industry codes of practice
• Assist with reviewing project documentation for compliance with project specifications and industry codes of practice
• Report issues found to senior team members in a clear, accurate and concise manner
• Liaise with contractors commissioning team in professional manner
• Carry out site observations with respect to quality of installation
• Monitor installation, submittals and use of engineering tools adhering to project and commissioning guidelines
• Assisting with tracking completion of tasks and preparing lookahead documents

JOB PURPOSE

As part of a multi-discipline project team representing AESG, conduct site inspections and verify the tested results are correct.

Develop knowledge about commissioning processes and test procedures in engineering discipline and demonstrate an ability and willingness to learn.

QUALIFICATION / EXPERIENCE

• MEP / Building Services Engineering Degree
• BSc Mechanical Engineering
• BSc Building Services Engineering
• MEP / Building Services Engineering College Diploma
• HNC, HND or equivalent
• MEP / Building Services Engineering College Certificate
• ONC, OND or equivalent
• MEP Trade Time Served + City & Guilds Certificate
• Minimum 2 years of job-related experience + Engineering Degree
• Minimum 3 years of job-related experience + College Diploma
• Minimum 4 years of job-related experience + College or Trade Certificate

Industry Accreditations

• Incorporated Engineer, desirable but not essential
• CSA Grade 3 qualified, desirable but not essential
• Commissioning certification such as BCA, ACG or NEBB, desirable but not essential

GENERAL EXPECTANCY

Moderate experience and proficiency in multiple competencies.

Capable of handling tasks with supervision.
