Job summary

AESG is seeking a Senior Commissioning Engineer to lead on-site commissioning activities in the Middle East. You will act as a technical authority, review designs, supervise field operations and mentor junior staff.

Applicants should have an MEP or Building Services degree and 8+ years of experience; Chartered or Incorporated Engineer status is desirable. Strong knowledge of commissioning procedures, industry codes, and reporting is essential.

Qualifications

• Requires MEP / Building Services Engineering Degree or equivalent
• Minimum 8–12 years of job-related experience depending on qualification
• Chartered Engineer and CSA/NEBB credentials desirable but not essential

Responsibilities

• Independently conduct site inspections in selected discipline
• Review design information, tolerances and agreed methods of working
• Assess test procedures and results for compliance with project specs and codes
• Assist with reviewing project documentation for compliance with specs and codes
• Report issues to senior team members clearly and concisely
• Liaise with contractors commissioning team professionally
• Carry out site observations with respect to installation quality
• Produce documentation to a high standard including Site Observation Reports
• Monitor installation, submittals and use of engineering tools per guidelines
• Participate in meetings and workshops as required
• Provide technical authority and leadership within the project team
• Support, mentor, and train colleagues
• Track task completion, prepare lookaheads and trackers for milestones
• Keep daily diary of events and activities on site
• Assist with commissioning design reviews and produce high-quality documentation

Job Purpose

Senior Commissioning Engineer is a senior role within the commissioning project team, the person undertaking this role is a technical authority in chosen discipline and a leader within the team. They are self-motivated, support the project manager with delivery of project scope and provide training and coaching to the team.

Qualification / Experience

MEP / Building Services Engineering Degree

• BSc Electrical Engineering
• BSc Building Services Engineering
• MEP / Building Services Engineering College Diploma
• HNC, HND or equivalent

MEP / Building Services Engineering College Certificate

• ONC, OND or equivalent
• MEP Trade Time Served + City & Guilds Certificate

Experience

• Minimum 8 years of job-related experience + Engineering Degree
• Minimum 10 years of job-related experience + College Diploma
• Minimum 12 years of job-related experience + College or Trade Certificate
• Chartered Engineer, desirable but not essential
• Incorporated Engineer, desirable but not essential
• CSA Grade 5 qualified, desirable but not essential
• Certified Commissioning Authority with BCA, ACG or NEBB, desirable but not essential

Responsibilities
