Job summary

AESG are seeking a disciplined professional to join their multi-disciplinary team for commissioning activities in Building Services. You will develop knowledge of commissioning processes and test procedures while supporting senior staff on site inspections and project documentation.

The role emphasizes learning, collaboration across disciplines, and adherence to project specifications and industry codes of practice within a dynamic consultancy setting.

Qualifications

• Engineering degree in MEP/building services.
• Experience with commissioning processes in buildings.
• Familiarity with test procedures and industry codes of practice.

Responsibilities

• Assist senior personnel in carrying out commissioning activities
• Develop knowledge in chosen discipline and how different systems interact in buildings
• Conduct site inspections in selected discipline
• Assess whether test procedures and recorded results demonstrate compliance with project specifications and industry codes of practice
• Assist with reviewing project documentation for compliance with project specifications and industry codes of practice
• Report issues found to senior team members in a clear, accurate and concise manner
• Liaise with contractors commissioning team in professional manner
• Carry out site observations with respect to quality of installation
• Monitor installation, submittals and use of engineering tools adhering to project and commissioning guidelines
• Assisting with tracking completion of tasks and preparing lookahead documents
• Keep daily diary of events and activities under your control, including systems inspected, documents reviewed, and any decision made by authorities on site

JOB PURPOSE

• As part of a multi-discipline project team representing AESG, conduct site inspections and verify the tested results are correct.
• Develop knowledge about commissioning processes and test procedures in engineering discipline and demonstrate an ability and willingness to learn.

QUALIFICATION / EXPERIENCE

• MEP / Building Services Engineering Degree
• BSc Electrical Engineering
• BSc Building Services Engineering
• MEP / Building Services Engineering College Diploma
• HNC, HND or equivalent
• MEP / Building Services Engineering College Certificate
• ONC, OND or equivalent
• MEP Trade Time Served + City & Guilds Certificate
• Minimum 2 years of job-related experience + Engineering Degree
• Minimum 3 years of job-related experience + College Diploma
• Minimum 4 years of job-related experience + College or Trade Certificate
• Industry Accreditations
• Incorporated Engineer, desirable but not essential
• CSA Grade 3 qualified, desirable but not essential
• Commissioning certification such as BCA, ACG or NEBB, desirable but not essential

GENERAL EXPECTANCY

• Moderate experience and proficiency in multiple competencies.
• Capable of handling tasks with supervision.
